Walking in the Carpinetana Area, near Bassiano (LT). This is a magic area full of history and gorgeous nature. A perfect place for the Magic Forest project with autumn mood.
While walking along the trail that goes between Baum and Crystal Lakes in Shasta County California I spotted this osprey in a rather unusual spot, low in a small tree. Normally, when I see them perched in that area it’s higher up and overlooking the water as they scan looking for a fish to grab. In this spot there wasn’t even any visible water the bird could see in to so I guess it just decided it was a good place to rest a while, at least until some goofy guy came strolling along, when it was time to move into dirty look mode.

Las Quintanillas, Gran Canaria. A lone, colourful house, an element to highlight the volcanic rocks and the strength of the ocean.

“Torre Astura” is an medieval coastal defense tower, build on the island called by the ancients merely Astura at the southeast extremity of the Bay of Antium (Anzio). Existing remains show that many of the Roman nobility must have had villas there. The Tower is part of the medieval castle of the Frangipani family. The castle was later a fief of the Caetani, the Orsini and then the Colonna families.
Walking around in the small village of Playa del Hombre, with my old & light camera, looking for a new inspirational way to see the world. Lines, colours, contrasts…
Every winter my wife and I put out mesh “socks” filled with nyjer seed. The lesser goldfinches (and a few other finch species) show up in droves. When the lesser show up in mid to late winter they are all fairly drab colored. However, as spring approaches the males transform into the vibrant yellow breeding coloration seen here.
Walking in the woodlands, searching for the spirit of the forest. Each time is an immersion in serenity… walking, listening, smelling, charged with the energy and positivity that nature can give. Here in the Circeo National Park

The early autumn mist covers the potato fields and the old barn houses at the rural Finland. The cold summer has not been kind to the potato leaves.
Walking in the Circeo National Park. The amazing world under the trees… I’m fascinated by mushrooms and their ability to grow wherever there is shade and humidity, their shapes and colors, their tenacity. I don’t know them, I look at them, I admire them and I try to steal an image to take with me.
