Hammered copper (always photographs like some pockmarked ailment...) and sterling silver, riveted with copper wire.

Driving down the road we came upon a new shopping center being built with a copper dome, so I had to roll down the passenger side window and lean over the person in the passenger seat to take this picture before the light turned green.

We were instructed to use as many different copper forming techniques as we could think of to create a piece in one week. I made a bouquet of flowers which used most of the techniques I'd learned. The black and the pinkish color changes were caused by the Liver of Sulfur Patina. I experimented with an ammonia/salt patina for some of the little grasses which turns the copper blue. Copper is very soft and is fun to play with.

The Copper Coast is a stretch of Atlantic Coastline from Tramore to Stradbally in County Waterford. It is now a European Geopark because of its unique mineral deposits. It is also one of the most beautiful coastal drives to be found anywhere. It is especially beautiful if you travel east to west on a clear day and are afforded the beautiful views of Mine and Helvic Heads with Dungarvan Bay. There are numerous beautiful coves with some great beaches. This is a very undiscovered and wonderful area of County Waterford and one of my favourite spots, especially Bonmahon, a place I have very fond memories of.

I am not adverse to it, I rather like it, but i just wonder how well they will hold up...will we look back on this design style and think it was a good or bad idea?
