Would have liked the coot closer to the camera but also didn't want to lose the lovely pond surroundings & the reflections by focusing in too close so the coot had to stay distant:)

a southern carmine bee eater(merops nubicoides) cooling on his perch.
this beautiful bird is the biggest african bee eater (till 38cm).
as they need a lot of big flying insects they visit southern parts of africa just in summer season
when they can find enough food.
they spent winter in central africa.

Winter has definitely arrived - although this is yet another capture from last year. We had sort of a blizzard today with at least 10 inches of snow - and guess what? It is snowing again. Hoping for some good light tomorrow and some sort of a footpath ;-). You all have a great weekend, may the good light be with you as well...

Cycling up Glen Ey in the Scottish Highlands I heard a waterfall over to my left. Leaving the bike and the main track and cutting through heather and marsh I explored further and came across this lovely waterfall in the deep shadow of Creag an Fhuathais. But we've lingered long enough, it's chilly in the shadows and there's the rest of the Glen to explore.
Enjoying evening a couple of weeks ago. During the coming week the heat wave will hit us again with temperatures in the high 20's...

It got up to 39 degrees while I was washing my car. So the only way to cool off was to hose myself down😁

Quite a cool June day at this beach following some rain. The sea quite wild for a few days and today not quite as bad but still rough. Quite a few surfers in wetsuits trying their luck. Taken at Pambula Far South Coast of NSW.

I saw the Coen Brothers Netflix anthology of western stories and the song just stuck in my head. I had to do some sort of wandering in the desert pic.
The Song dates back a long time with a writing credit to "The Sons of the Pioneers" and has been covered many times most notably by Johnny Cash and Hank Williams.
