Here, I'm demonstrating, how the Induction Cooker does not, itself warm up, yet it makes the cooking vessel the heating element. The white pad under the boiling pan of water is a paper towel. If the pan had been made of cast iron, I could have placed it on the pot holder itself and boiled the water. This particular pan is very thin, cheap steel, and the Induction Cooker could not sense enough ferrous material to activate from that thickness of a pot holder. It is very energy efficient, since there is no need for a super hot heating element to transfer it's energy to the pan to cook with. Using the ability to make the cookware the heating element, the cook time is very fast, and very little loss of energy.

Working with sugar can be messy, but cleaning up is easy. I needed to refill my sugar bowl and took the opportunity to play with my iPhone. I set the bowl on my cooktop (I love the black surface and the reflection it creates). Then, with my iPhone in a big mug, I set the auto-timer and poured the sugar from a large glass measuring cup. I repeated this process several times, checking the results in my camera roll until I found an image I liked.
