Banana Split.
This was my group's winning submission to the KKPsi cooking competition. The challenge was to make a food item using none of its normal ingredients. This was our take on a "banana split"- we made spaghetti and meatballs with baguette as the banana, alfredo sauce as the whipped cream, and cherry tomatoes as the cherries. Pretty and tasty!
The entries are complete - Chef Chad White begins cleanup at his competition kitchen at the San Diego County Fair's Tour of Tastes exhibit. His plated steak tartare, at left, won the morning's blue ribbon.
