As a part of National Heritage Day, I visited the old Southern Railway Electrical Control Room at Woking. The classic Art Deco Building dates from 1936 and still contains a lot of the original ASEA manufactured equipment from that date. The building remained in use until 1996 when its area was transferred to a new electrical control room in Eastleigh.
