My dad used to travel the world, and he would always find a way to pick up frogs from different countries for my wife's frog collection, which now numbers over 500 individual frogs...

This set features two hand-carved and hand-painted frogs he picked up in Korea. The colors help give these frogs a kind of ying-yang feel...

As always, thanks for your views, comments and faves!

Lapland is a magical land - the land of contrasts, light, snow and Sami people. In this picture, the foreground which is frozen is actually the river, Kemijoki. In the middle there is a small island called Lainassaari. The river passed through the mystic Rovaniemi city. Lainassaari is an island in Finnish Lapland and is nearby to Likasaari, Kuusela and Koivusaari. At this time of winter, the sun doesn’t rise above horizon but still daylight comes here which feels like twilight or sunset. That is why it is also called land of contrast.

I´m not too keen on the centered medallion, but it was pretty much the only way to get this composition. I really loved the contrast on the textures

This is a nighttime aerial view of a city skyline. The photo captures an urban landscape with numerous illuminated buildings and skyscrapers of varying heights. The scene is dominated by city lights that create a vibrant pattern against the dark night sky. A main street or boulevard runs through the center of the image, glowing with traffic lights and street lamps that form a bright line through the urban grid. There are what appear to be shopping centers or commercial areas with brightly lit storefronts visible in the middle section of the image. In the background, taller buildings and skyscrapers rise up, with one prominent high-rise tower standing out. The entire scene showcases the energy and activity of a metropolitan area at night, with the contrast between the dark sky and the illuminated structures creating a classic cityscape view.

I was thinking about contrasting colors when I started thinking about "things" that contrast and do not go together. Guns and Alcohol don't mix well, much the same as oil and water...(Incubus, great song)

A világ két arcát állítja megdöbbentő kontrasztba képein egy török művész - Érdemes mindet végignézni!

Uğur Gallen Instagramján található fotógyűjteménytől valahogy helyre kerülnek a saját életünk szétesett lego darabkái.

Éles kontrasztba rakja a fogyasztói társadalmat azok életével, akik kilátástalanul léteznek, szinte a túlélésre törekedve mindössze …

Painting and markings:

At first I considered an F-24I in IAF markings, or even a Japanese aircraft, but then reverted to one of nighthunter’s initial, simple ideas: an USAF aircraft in the “Hill II” paint scheme (F-16 style), made up from three shades of gray (FS 36118, 36270 and 36375) with low-viz markings and stencils. Dutch/Turkish NF-5A/Bs in the “Hill II” scheme were used as design benchmarks, too. It’s a simple livery, but on this delta wing aircraft it looks pretty interesting. I used enamels, what I had at hand: Humbrol 127 and 126, and Modelmaster's 1723.

A light black ink wash was applied, in order to em,phasize the engraved panel lines, in contrast to that, panels were manually highlighted through dry-brushed, lighter shades of gray (Humbrol 27, 166 and 167).

“Hill II” also adds to a generic, realistic touch for this whif. Doing an exotic air force thing is rather easy, but creating a convincing whif for a huge military machinery like the USAF’s takes more subtlety, I think.

The cockpit was painted in medium Gray (Dark Gull Grey, FS 36231, Humbrol 140), as well as the radome. The landing gear and the air intakes were painted white. The radome was painted with Revell 47 and dry-brushed with Humbrol 140.

Decals were puzzled together from various USAF aircraft, including sheets from an Airfix F-117, an Italeri F-15E and even an Academy OV-10D.
