Sigma 35-70mm f/2.8: At a party this past weekend; my wife's friend and ex-coworker owns several cats, I was loving the colors of this one...
Birmingham City Transport AEC Regent No. 486 contrasts with Tyseley's Class 47 No. 47773 on the occasion of Tyseley Locomotive Works Open Weekend on 17 June 2023. The bus was visiting from Wythall Transport Museum. it was of an order dating back to 1931, which were known as 'piano fronts' for obvious reasons, and for a period during the Second World War saw service in London, covering for the depleted number of Landon Transport vehicles lost or damaged due to bombing. It was withdrawn in 1946, and for a period provided shelter to a recluse in Herefordshire, before being re-discovered. The restoration of the vehicle has taken over 40years and cost over £0.5m, but the stunning result has been well worth waiting for. Copyright photograph John Whitehouse - all rights reserved

Wagtail. Part of my continuing series with birds on boats, every wildlife image I see is usually a bird on a stick or in what is considered to be the natural habitat of the bird, but as man encroaches more and more into the wildlife habitat this is no longer necessarily the case, so I have decided to do a series with a difference, all the birds in this series are all shot on or about boats. With this image and a few of the other pictures I think it gives the images and interesting graphic feel because of the geometric nature of the boat structures the birds are perched on as well as the colour scheme. The juxtaposition between nature and technology.

I was looking for a way to spotlight the star shapes in the center of the cosmos and, on a whim, decided to have a look at it in B&W. It was not quite the effect I wanted, so I bumped up the contrast first and then converted to B&W. Edits done with Photoscape.
Light and darkness, old pasture with the renewal of young plants, barriers and freedom of a generous nature, everything in this landscape reminds me that the contrasts are of extreme beauty, like the harmony of the Life with its beautiful contradictions and all of us so different but yet indissociable from humanity.

The colors in the Grand Tetons were at their height and contrasting that with the muted background, made them standout all the more.

Goal of this take was to get contrasts in more than one sense. The colours, the high fashion outfit against the old machines, the lady in the really not ladylike environment.
Hope it worked.
When I first met you, I looked up to you. I'm not entirely sure why, I guess I figured you had a trustworthy face. Call me shallow, but I saw empathy in your eyes. Initially I denied characteristics and allowed myself to be drawn in by your appearance.
And look how it turned out. Jealousy, denial, and bitter truths. I'm stunned, amazed, frightened, at how something so beautiful
can be so ugly on the inside.
Hiiiiiiiiiiii, yep I'm back properly now, to be a normal actual contact again and upload 365's which require actual effort even if I do look like I've just been beaten over the hedge with a badger I quite liked the depth of field. Yes.
I've had a great time working with Julian Stumm and gaining experience, hopefully it's not over yet!
I'll put some more updates on my blog of the things I've been up to... my treat ;)
