At least one of these is used for runs with the Wayne Highlands School District. The first bus in the like is a spare for them, and was previously numbered 83. The middles bus is blank, and the bus at the end is the WHSD bus 72.
As we are aware getting into locations can be a bit bizar , as we left this place a local german lady stopped pedalling her bike and asked us when was the "Building " going to be re opened , we so were not german contractors , as we found this place there happened to be major road works right outside the place , the only way in !!
Pictured are Joanna Kiernan and Tiffany Quinn at the CIF Top 50 Contractors event tonight in Iveagh Garden hotel in Dublin. Turnover in top construction firms grows to €6.72billion. The combined turnover of Ireland’s top construction firms has increased by €720million on last year according to Construction Magazine’s annual Top 50 CIF Contractors listing for 2018. The annual listing gives a snapshot of the overall growth in Irish construction as it delivers many largescale projects throughout Ireland and the world, attracting foreign direct investment to Ireland and exporting over €1.6bn in construction expertise. According to Construction Magazine’s figures the Top 50 Irish Contractors reported a combined turnover of €6.72billion over the last 12 months, with €5.1billion of this activity taking place in Ireland and a €1.62billion resulting from exported construction services. Ah, contractors. You love to hate them and hate to love them, but you've gotta admit that it's the most badass job in the world. Stackin' paper, shootin' motherfuckers, drinkin' booze and fuckin' bitches.
C&C Appreciated.
I saw a picture of this ex Australian Army Scammell Contractor tank transporter that'd been converted to a tipper here on Flickr around 2011, and when I was on holiday there in 2018 I decided to see if the 1971 built machine was still around.
With not much time or information I managed to track it down even though it'd moved location to a coal mine which was impossible to access without induction training!
Never mind, at least the old girl was parked fairly near the fence!
A sign reading "Paramilitary contractors accountable to no one are running around uptown now." with "They assaulted someone last night." added to the bottom.

A rarely seen ca. 1969/70 Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation (GAEC) artist’s concept of a rotating space station concept. This, the following linked designs & my other linked Flickr photos of GAEC designs below - based on the photo identification number - look to have been part of the same family/series of contractor concepts, proposals, etc., solicited/entertained by NASA ca. 1969:
www.aerospaceprojectsreview.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2...
www.aerospaceprojectsreview.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2...
Both above credit: the excellent Aerospace Projects Review website
In confirmation…IMHO…of such; in January - February 1969, NASA Administrator Thomas O. Paine oversaw the creation of a Space Station Task Force, a Space Station Steering Group, and an independent Space Station Review Group. These bodies prepared a Phase B Space Station Study Statement of Work (SOW), which NASA released to industry on 19 April 1969. So, I'm pretty sure these works are some of the responses/submittals to that SOW.
"The SOW solicited proposals to study a 12-man Space Station, the design of which would eventually serve as a building block for a 100-man Earth-orbital Space Base. The 12-man Station was to reach orbit on a Saturn V rocket in 1975 and to remain in operation for 10 years...
Grumman, North American Rockwell (NAR), and McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Company (MDAC) submitted proposals in response to the SOW."
The above is a combination of paraphrasing & cut/paste from David S. F. Portree's superlative (as always) article at his wonderful "No Shortage of Dreams" blog. The entire wonderfully informative content at:
spaceflighthistory.blogspot.com/2015/03/outpost-in-leo-mc...
Further, particularly regarding the space station depiction itself, thanks to a posting on this image hosting ‘service’ by James Vaughan (also linked to below) of a GAEC ad, it’s source, along with the other linked ‘iconic’ concept was identified. Additionally, the ad contained some descriptive information and a wonderful, although slightly confusing diagram. The text from which follows:
“What form will the nation’s first earth orbiting space station take?
Experienced Grumman design and development engineers continue to investigate all types of space station concepts—from Zero G nonrotating to rotating types. All this design effort results from the basic study of the many uses that space stations might have. As an example, earth orbiting space stations might conceivably be a twin-bladed configuration as shown above [the more ‘iconic’ image], or a multiple canister type, shown below [this posted image]. Whatever the final design may be, the mechanical and human problems involved are enormous, demanding unique capabilities for integrating the most complex components. At Grumman, this capacity for integration is in the hands of an experienced hard core of engineers who, with free exchange of ideas in design and development, provide total systems in space technology.”
As if all of the above weren’t enough, confirmation that this work is by none other than Craig Kavafes, and by extrapolation/comparison, the other ‘iconic’ design. Oddly/interestingly though, is his use of a lower-case block letter signature, something I’d associate with an earlier work. Regardless, a multifaceted “WIN”!
But now…get this, the ad (along with a bunch of other cool ones) was featured in the September 1963 issue of “AIR FORCE/SPACE DIGEST” magazine, page 109. At:
books.google.com/books?id=zz0PAAAAIAAJ&printsec=front...

That certainly explains Mr. Kavafes’ signature style. Does that mean GAEC just pulled these off the shelf, dusted them off & submitted them (maybe again?) In 1969?
I am really happy with this figure - he is one of my Private Military Contractors, and he is heavily armed!
His helmet is a BrickArms MCH with minifig.cat Nightvision goggles and a Tiny Tactical scope (which I am using as a mounted camera), and he is armed with a BrickArms SMG (with Tiny Tactical additions), a BrickArms proto SABR, and a BricKArms proto Kukri, as well as several extra ammo magaziness. Everything is removable and usable for the figure.
It also uses the head of the GIBrick CIA Operative!
This view offers multiple angles of the figure.
As always, I hope you enjoy the figure, and comments are always appreciated!
The current century old Miami-Dade County Courthouse at 73 Flagler Street will see a new neighbor rise across the street; the new 474-foot-tall, 25-story Miami-Dade County Civil and Probate Courthouse was approved by the Miami-Dade Rapid Transit Developmental Impact Committee back in February of 2021. Designed by HOK, the 537,968-square-foot courthouse building is anticipated to become one of the tallest governmental-use towers in Miami.
Plenary Group, an Australian infrastructure investment firm, is the developer behind the proposals for the new courthouse under Plenary Justice Miami, LLC. The narrow piece of property is located within the western portion of Downtown Miami, also recognized as a part of the Central Business District, and in close proximity to the Government Center Metromover Station and the Interstate 95; bounded by Northwest 1st Avenue to the west, West Flagler Street to the south, Northwest 1st Street to the north and the HistroyMiami Museum to the south. Being that the property is owned by Miami-Dade County, developers had to submit a bid to be selected, where Plenary Group’s proposal was picked as the winner, likely due to the lower construction costs for the project. Other competing proposals were submitted by M-S-E Judicial Partners LLC and Sacyr Infrastructure USA.
Renderings from HOK reveal several elevations with offset window forms, creating a jagged-like texture from afar. The structure will be made of reinforced concrete and clad in what appears to be light-grey masonry with hints of metal trims scattered throughout the building and large floor-to-ceiling glazed windows. The eastern elevation facing the old courthouse features a slightly protruding volume enclosed in glass as well.
Likely due to minimizing construction costs, Miami-Dade County is permitting the project to proceed overriding several regulations. The parking garage will not require screening, and only 11% of the site will be open space whereas the requirement is typically 15%. A building’s facade normally requires 40% glazing, but in this case it will be at 27%. The proposed development can have blank walls facing the public without an artistic expressions such as mosaics or murals, and 0 site trees will be planted, whereas the required amount is 30.

A quaint little abandonment, in Panama, once owned by former Military Dictator General Manual Noriega. The residence is said to contain a dungeon basement however on my visit there I could not find anything like that. Noriega was captured by the U.S. D.E.A. and Military Forces and brought to the U.S. to face money laundering, and drug related charges. This place is located right on the Ocean in Panama, and would have been a stunning home. Signs of the American invasion are still visible both inside and outside the home. The place itself, is now overgrown, and stripped of it's once proud elegance. My taxi driver told me if I was caught on the site, I would be thrown in prison. Needless to say, that didn't stop me.
