This guy seemed perfectly content to lie in the sun and occasionally change positions. It was tricky trying to catch him looking my way. He kept his tongue out like this for a long time, reminding me of my cats. And he wasn't right up close to the fence--that's lens compression. For the Monthly Scavenger Hunt group, "Heart of the Lion."
Sometimes I don't need to be surrounded by a lot of people and activity to feel content and peaceful.
As with everything in moderation, solitude stirs my imagination and spurs my creativity.

Plaid's Wrexham candidate Marc Jones after another big leaflet drop in Caia Park (Saturday 30 April 2011). The area is home to the Queensway Sports Centre, where the Crusaders Rugby League team train.
A traditional-looking pig (no idea what breed), asleep and snoring in one of the medieval pig-styes belonging to One-Ash Grange, originally an old monastic grange farm.
Definitely this was too big for Farl and me so I just contented myself to taking photographs. The glaze looks heavenly.

A rare breed found in the black country museum
Basement disco - a contented sense of concentration caught my eye. The sound system is very good quality and well-fitted to the room - loud but not deafening.
Note on lighting - there are very good photographers who use expensive kit and flash photography at clubs. No doubt the people images are sharp but flash in a club (unless it is programmed as part of the light show) just seems to destroy any sense of mood. The N95 isn't terribly fancy kit but does have its own 'vibe' in Night Mode - no PP adjustments to colour balance.

The sights and sounds of the bloody Wars of the Roses were brought to life as a chapter of Yorkshire’s medieval history was revealed.
Members of the Frei Compagnie and the Towton Battlefield Society donned medieval costume staged a re-enactment and pitched up camps at Bolling Hall which is one of the oldest buildings in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, as part of the Living History Weekend.
