One last look at this mystery before moving on to other content. I like this perspective as it shows the building with the vast open fields surrounding it. The branches from the tree also add an interesting touch!
The debate of whether this was a school or a house seems to be 50/50 based on your comments. I'd like to think that potentially it was both. I'll continue to try and find an answer but my research has yielded few results.
Let me know which angle is your favorite!

...I realize
Just what you mean
To me
And now
Now that you're near
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
And dreams
Of our moments together
Colour my world with hope of loving you

I hadn't photographed this species in years.
J'étais bien content de pouvoir le photographier celui-là. Ça faisait des années que je n'en avais vu.

This Mourning Dove looked content perched in the oriental pear tree soaking up the warmth of the sun. My backyard. Central Bucks, PA.
Doc and I stood watching a busy beaver prepare for winter, as he swam between his lodge and the trees that lined his pond. In this photo you can see his wake in the water, and his head between the trees on the left.
I thought that this delightful poem by Del Ray told the story of beaver life in Alaska perfectly . . .
There’s a trail no one walks in the forest
that’s lined with a quilt of leaves,
webbed feet of the largest rodent*
scamper as fallen trees grieve.
Trees wilt with the sound of gnawing,
as wolves in the distance, howl,
and moose clamber over rocks fallen,
while wildcats stalk prey as they growl.
The beavers are content with their chewing,
they gather and chew chew chew,
not like old steam engines of trains
that chug through the valleys of dew.
They chew through the aspen and birch,
those beavers take down the sweet maple;
they gather the twigs and the branches,
that’s fodder on their muddy table.
And quietly in their spiky lodge,
their kits, as cute as they are,
they plan their dam of destruction
under the shiny north star,
reminding the race of humans,
we’re not the only ones chopping down trees,
they weren’t just meant to be hats,
like us they have families and needs.
So beavers keep growing and gnawing
through the winter as snowflakes fall,
yet seeds of change will soon sprout
in the spring, when song birds call.

Another hibiscus flower in my backyard. FYI, I do not live in a mobile home park like the map says, I live in a house northeast of where I placed the image.
Fort Myers Yellow is often seen grown as a 4-6' high tree standard or braid.
Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are renowned for their large, showy flowers and those species are commonly known simply as "hibiscus", or less widely known as rose mallow. Other names include hardy hibiscus, rose of sharon, and tropical hibiscus.
The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees.
Several species are widely cultivated as ornamental plants, notably Hibiscus syriacus and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.
A tea made from hibiscus flowers is known by many names around the world and is served both hot and cold. The beverage is known for its red colour, tart flavour, and vitamin C content.

Lytham Hall is an 18th-century Georgian country house in Lytham, Lancashire, 1 mile from the centre of the town, in 78 acres of wooded parkland. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, the only one in the Borough of Fylde. Wikipedia
This rock is know as Lands End in Cabo San Lucas. This is the last bit of land at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. On the horizon is nothing but the Pacific Ocean for a very long way. The sea lion on top of the rock seemed quite content to stay there all day as tourist boats swirled around the spot.

“I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness...
The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance”

Built for the Large Misc. category in CCC XIII.
This is my first Castle model entirely based off of a real castle: Bodiam Castle in England. I built only the front wall, and it isn't scaled perfectly, but I think it's close enough to be quite recognizeable. Also I changed the bridge layout, because of space limitations.
See a picture of the real Bodiam castle here: www.raspberrypi.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/england-bo...
There's no interior this time, though the portcullis and main doors are functional.
