* EXPLORE octubre 2020
* Puerta del Castillo. Entrada a la “Plaza Alta” por la parte posterior de la Alcazaba. Badajoz. Extremadura. España.
* Todo el conjunto amurallado de la Alcazaba fue declarado Monumento Histórico-Artístico por decreto de 3 de junio de 1931.

"There is much virtue in a window. It is to a human being as a frame is to a painting, as a proscenium to a play, as 'form' to literature. It strongly defines its content."

YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE – ELVIS PRESLEY
Sometimes in life we come full circle
I see a footprint of my beginning
and here I am back at the start
I see the people who tried to stop me winning
but I rise above them; and leave them far behind
I draw a line in shifting, whispering grains of sand
and something deep inside me drives me on
no looking back; I am complete; I understand
sometimes in life we cannot win them over
it's not our job; it's for a greater Hand
and He will guide me on my journey
bring me safely to the shore
where angels sing; rejoice and hold me
and I will not be frightened any more
He sees in us the pain; the human burden
He sees the weight that life and people bring
He knows how much; He knows and He is certain
He will not give us more than we can take
so that in our hearts and souls we'll always sing
and when at last our cup is brimming over
He lays his Hand upon our heads and soothes our brow
and we feel the greatest love that ever found us
and we are comforted and lighter; it is a miracle somehow
and once more we are peaceful
finding joy in simple things
as darkness; shadows and all our plights
are left behind and taken care of;
whisked away on angel's wings
and soon the lines of strain are smoothed; not furrowed
as clouds reveal the stars of wonder and ethereal light
and we begin to live at last the ever after; forget tomorrow
this moment we exist; and in this moment
I am complete; I am content right here, right now.

PS Thanks to input from several people I believe the fish is either a juvenile shad or a walleye not a bass

Sea lions are pinnipeds characterized by external ear flaps, long foreflippers, the ability to walk on all fours, short and thick hair, and a big chest and belly. Together with the fur seals, they make up the family Otariidae, eared seals. The sea lions have six extant and one extinct species (the Japanese sea lion) in five genera. Their range extends from the subarctic to tropical waters of the global ocean in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, with the notable exception of the northern Atlantic Ocean.
Sea lions have an average lifespan of 20–30 years. A male California sea lion weighs on average about 300 kg (660 lb) and is about 2.4 m (8 ft) long, while the female sea lion weighs 100 kg (220 lb) and is 1.8 m (6 ft) long. The largest sea lions are Steller's sea lions, which can weigh 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) and grow to a length of 3.0 m (10 ft). Sea lions consume large quantities of food at a time and are known to eat about 5–8% of their body weight (about 6.8–15.9 kg (15–35 lb)) at a single feeding. Sea lions can move around 16 knots (30 km/h; 18 mph) in water and at their fastest they can reach a speed of about 30 knots (56 km/h; 35 mph). Three species, the Australian sea lion, the Galápagos sea lion and the New Zealand sea lion, are listed as endangered

Archaeological excavations of the Polyconchal Basilica at Plaoshnik and Church of St. Clement and St. Panteleimon, Ohrid, Macedonia.
The church was built by St. Clement in 893 on the foundations of an early Christian basilica, and it was dedicated to St. Panteleimon. This was the place of the Ohrid Literary School, a center of Slavonic literary and cultural activity. St. Clement was buried in this monastery, in the tomb that he built himself.
It is the oldest Slav monastery. That is one of the reasons that Ohrid was inscribed in 1979 on the Unesco word heritage list.

#macromondays #vintage
For the great upcoming theme calles #vintage i decided to use an casette tape which lots of us remember. Back in the good old days we used those tapes to listen to our favorite music. And who of us don`t remember it when we had to roll up the mashed up tape by hand ?
The Compact Cassette or Musicassette (MC), also commonly called the tape cassette, cassette tape, audio cassette, or simply tape or cassette, is an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback. Invented by Lou Ottens and his team at the Dutch company Philips in 1963, Compact Cassettes come in two forms, either already containing content as a prerecorded cassette (Musicassette), or as a fully recordable "blank" cassette. Both forms have two sides and are reversible by the user. Although other tape cassette formats have also existed - for example the Microcassette - the generic term cassette tape is normally always used to refer to the Compact Cassette because of its ubiquity.

Ruben’s House in Anwerp
Peter Paul Rubens, the famous painter of 16th-17th century, was …Belgian!! A Flemish Belgian, belonging to the Belgian Baroque tradition in painting! His unique and immensely popular Baroque style emphasized movement, colour, and sensuality, which followed the immediate, dramatic artistic style promoted in the Counter-Reformation. In his times he was a Dutch from the Southern Netherlands, living in Antwerp ! Rubens was a painter producing altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects. He was also a prolific designer of cartoons for the Flemish tapestry workshops and of front pieces for the publishers in Antwerp.
This talented man, was a great Artist in many fields, apart from his painting talent!! He was also a very educated , charismatic scholar and diplomat, and had a great talent in decoration and architecture, which he proved by cooperating with great decorators and architects of his times, in order to create his beautiful palace home in Antwerp/Anvers of our days!! You can follow and see digitally the beauty of this exquisite old palace house, here:

I visited this lovely museum-house of today, which Flanders is so proud of, with a Flemish friend of mine, this last summer in Antwerp. I share with you here some of the photos I took of the interior of Rubens House, and of its beautiful gardens , too.

These beautiful birds have been somewhat of a nemesis for me - I quite often seen and photographed them but always at the top of trees and in terrible light, so I was very happy to find this one posing.

12. Erindale Community Hall
(c. 1928) 1620 Dundas Street W.
In the last quarter of the 19th Century, the Parish Hall, General Store and Post Office, and the Royal Exchange Hotel formed the commercial core of Erindale. In 1919, fire swept Erindale, destroying much of its old core, including the original hall on this site. A community-based committee was formed to oversee the building of a new hall. The new hall was officially opened in 1928 by Lieutenant Governor W.D. Ross. Still owned and operated by a Board of Directors and separate from municipal support, the Erindale Community Hall hosts many community events and is available for public rental.

This rock is know as Lands End in Cabo San Lucas. This is the last bit of land at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. On the horizon is nothing but the Pacific Ocean for a very long way. The sea lion on top of the rock seemed quite content to stay there all day as tourist boats swirled around the spot.
