The Speed Shop is a former auto garage warehouse that has transformed into central Austin’s premier training facility. The joint venture between Pure Austin Fitness (Austin’s foremost fitness brand) and Rogue Running (Austin’s most respected coaching and running retailer) combines the talent, passion, and energy of both companies into an exciting design solution that conveys these traits, while maintaining each companies individuality. The design of the Speed Shop evokes movement and strength - two common elements of performance training at Pure Austin and Rogue Running - with a series of container boxes stacked and rotated to their limits of structural capabilities. The containers host most of the program elements of the project: the juice bar, shoe display, changing rooms, point of sales, storage, etc. The existing concrete masonry structure, transformed into a large container box itself, hosts the rest of the program, such as restrooms, showers, storage and administration offices.
The design ties to the history of the space and its location, right by the rail road tracks. The “containers” in the space were originally conceived as shipping containers, just like the ones you see everyday shipped on the adjacent railroad tracks. We maintained their scale and proportions and introduced instead reclaimed shipping pallets in the composition, to accentuate both the rough character and the toughness of the precarious material, since we considered them qualities embedded in both Rogue and Pure.
The building name, relates to both speed and the automotive repair shop; appropriate to a facility that formerly tuned elite machines and now it will tune up elite athletes.
This will be the first facility of its kind in Austin and Runa is thrilled to have been a part of it.

This is the top third of one light (there are two lights) of a Millenium window designed by the villagers of Towersey for their church. I took some pictures of the complete window but they never look quite so dramatic so I prefer to find the bit I like best and take a shot of that. The complete design shows aspects of village life and this one shows the church of St. Catherine with the dove of peace. I find the colours of this stained glass stunning and it is beautifully designed.

Suspended within the austere, angular space of the Wilsey Court, a vibrant infusion of color and dynamic form initiates a celebration of life and all things Elemental. A radiant central composition of yellow forsythia and red Manzanita branches alludes to the sun and earth, the combined vital energy common to us all. Orbiting this form is an ascending spiral, which presents allusions to the building blocks of nature: the earth orbiting the sun, the atom, DNA, and to the continuous path of life along which we travel.

The Tenerife TEA space Arts (TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes), is a work of Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron and the canary Virgilio Gutierrez. This new cultural area, which opened in October 2008, houses several exhibition halls, a large library and the Photography Center of Tenerife Island. This is an innovative idea not only for the island but to the Canary Islands, because it is an unprecedented cultural infrastructure in the archipelago, with a strong vocation to bring together contemporary art created by new technological changes in society.

In short, this means you may use any of these wallpapers for personal and/or commercial purposes without any financial obligations. ( MEANS FREE ) ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS YOU GIVE ARTGRAFX CREDIT FOR CREATING THE ORIGINAL IMAGE. ( ATTRIBUTION PART )
All wallpaper images will be 1920 x 1200 @ 72 dpi.
I have tried to eliminate any duplicates but I am running ragged. Plan to upload in excess of 20000 of these rascals.
Download as many as you want. It is not required but. It would be nice to offer a fav or comment.
If you find any duplicate wallpapers between hour two sections on Flickr, any of our wallpaper images will revert to Creative Commons with attribution. In the very near future, I will delete any of our wallpapers from our original section on Flickr.
