At the first installment of the Back-to-Basics Boot Camp: Survival Skills for Sustainable City Living workshops, presented by ReadyMade and Socrates Sculpture Park, at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, NYC.

My first attempt at container gardening. I went for mostly herbs, but threw in one two yummy veggies for fun. I'll be following the instructions in my two recent purchases: Grow Great Grub and Bountiful Container. They're both fantastic books full of great container gardening tips--fingers crossed!

To be fair you couldn't really miss the lighthouse, nor the Container City buildings. This one reminded me of my Lego bike shop, as that was yellow as well.
All of the onions you see here are from last year. I moved them to containers. We've already started eating them. I didn't know if they would be good, but they've been fine. The tomato plant is one I started from seed and is doing the best of all my pitiful tomato plants. The tree is from an acorn I *didn't* plant, but it started to grow in a place it would never survive, so I put it in a container and may try to plant it in the front yard later. Canby, Oregon. How to choose a Container Semi Trailer?
