At the first installment of the Back-to-Basics Boot Camp: Survival Skills for Sustainable City Living workshops, presented by ReadyMade and Socrates Sculpture Park, at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, NYC.
This one was on container gardening, with experts from Eagle Street Rooftop Farms in Brooklyn, and Plant Specialists in LIC. It happened on Sunday, April 18, 2010.
I took an empty cardboard salt container and completely covered it with polymer clay. The lid is a cardboard duct tape roll that I also covered in clay. They fit together perfectly, like they were made for each other!

Skeleton Semi Trailer has no bottom plate and can only be used for transporting containers. All of the onions you see here are from last year. I moved them to containers. We've already started eating them. I didn't know if they would be good, but they've been fine. The tomato plant is one I started from seed and is doing the best of all my pitiful tomato plants. The tree is from an acorn I *didn't* plant, but it started to grow in a place it would never survive, so I put it in a container and may try to plant it in the front yard later. Canby, Oregon.
