Winter sowing containers. View large size to see more detail.

Eso es ser reciclar con buen humor :)

Here's a fall container I planted for my mom - it's a small "sky pencil" shrub (1 gallon size) surrounded by violas. I'm planning on leaving the shrub in there as long as I can, and just replace the annuals every spring & fall.

This is a brilliant idea from, I think, Chelsea Physic Garden in London. The project manager grows food plants in containers which reflect the plant itself. This, for example, is a mango plant in a mango juice carton.

Côte d’Ivoire Terminal has taken delivery of six electric fleet gantry cranes and 14 electric terminal tractors. Following the delivery of six electric gantry cranes starting this summer, the terminal is on track to be operational in November this year. The new Côte d’Ivoire Terminal will be the second container terminal at the Port of Abidjan, built and operated by a Bolloré Ports and APM Terminals consortium.

Old rusting containers with no place to go

Mini World Rotterdam is a huge working model of the city Rotterdam and areas of The Netherlands. There are lot of train movements and operating road traffic on some parts. There are many strange or humorous items to be spotted.

In Mini World land 1 minute is the equivalent of 1 hour, so the dusk and night time happen quite often. As the sun goes down the sky is amber and the street and building lamps turn on.

I mounted two fiberglass ladders to the side of our tool shed. It's nice to get them off the ground and out of the way. Drilling through the shipping container wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but making enough room on the other side to tighten the nuts was no easy task. I should have used rivets.

Container ships too large to transit the canal have their containers offloaded and transported 50 miles to the other end of the canal via rail to another container ship waiting there.

Despite the cost, this is far less expensive than the 9000 mile, 3 week journey around the tip of South America.

I have an abundance of empty stacking boxes/containers, left over from when I moved house last time. Over the subsequent years I've been slowly sifting the boxes and aiming towards a never-going-to-happen minimalist lifestyle (as long as you don't include books in that minimalism!).

That's how the container looked after customs went through it. Nothing is secured anymore. They just threw everything back in.

My gardens are no-dig gardens in these containers. We rent, so it's a very good way of still having a vege patch, and makes it really easy to maintain.
