The United States Consulate General Perth celebrated the 248th Independence of the United States of America with a reception at the Art Gallery of WA, Northbridge on June 11, 2024.
Consulate General of India in collaboration with Insight for Creativity organized a special Hindi Poetry oriented inspiring and entertaining evening “Rang Darpan” to celebrate the rainbow of colors in the Hindi language. Consul General Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty gave his welcome remarks to the gathering. Combination of expressions in Hindi was presented by Mr. Ashok Vyas along with talented poets and artists which added colour to the evening. The poets for the evening were: Mr. Jaideep, Ms. Bindu Agrawal, Mr. Anoop Bhargava, Ms. Susham Bedi, Dr. RD S. Sethi, Ms. Swadesh Rana, Mr. Ashok Singh, Ms. Seema Khurana . Yogacharya Dr. Dayashankar Vidyalankar also recited his poetry along with the other poets.
NBA Africa dedication of the new Boys & Girls Club in Soweto and the following reception at the US Consulate in Johannesburg.
The consulate features some cool artwork that you're not supposed to photograph (*whistles innocently*) so this dragon will have to stand in for it.

After WWII, it must really suck to have held on to this one dinky and rather unimposing building. Then again, if the Germans built, in A'dam, something like they did in NYC, I'm sure the Dutch would have had a fit. (Anyone who's seen the NYC one knows what I'm talking about. AUCHTUNG, BABY!)
