The UK government launched the first ever Pop-Up Consulate in Louisville, Kentucky March 11-15, 2013. The Pop-Up Consulate served as a temporary office and event space to highlight what makes Britain a great place to visit and do business. Organized by the British Consulate-General in Chicago, the Pop-Up Consulate hosted more than a dozen events through the week for students, business leaders, journalists, artists, elected officials and sport enthusiasts.
Monaco's Ambassador to the USA Gilles Noghes, and Consul General Maguy Maccario co-hosted a VIP reception at the Consulate General of Monaco to celebrate the first participation in the ING NYC Marathon by Monaco-based Peace & Sport. They were joined by Champions of Peace, Paula Radcliffe, Tegla Loroupe and Wilson Kipketer, the Mayor of New Orleans Mitch Landrieu and many special guests.

Once the British consulate, this building now houses the Zhenjiang historical museum. The exhibits aren't high-profile and the display isn't high-tech, but the artifacts are thousands of years old. It's funny how impressive that is to an American.

Vice Consul Stephen Brown and Projects Officer Michael Sansour were welcomed by the President of the Society and were treated to music and singing by the children. Later Mr Brown was honoured to present the certificates to the graduates with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Sheikh Mohammed Ahmed Hussein.
The Consulate is located in the area to the west of the Piazza along the waterfront, in a street chock full of designer brand shops. The Prada shop is right underneath.
Established on October 26th, 1897, the former Japanese consulate in Mokpo was built right after the port was opened for trade by order of Emperor Kojong on the 1st of October. The current structure was built here, at the foot of Yudal Mountain, in 1900. England and Russia also had plans to establish consulates in Mokpo but never did.
