Holdings:

The Virginia Court made the following holding:

Cohabitation between husband and wife during the pendency of the suit for divorce is considered a sufficient reason for the defendant’s belief that plaintiff spouse had abandoned the suit, and a justification for not appearing to make a defense. But where it is sought to set aside a decree on the ground that during the pendency of the divorce action the spouse who obtained it had condoned the other’s offenses by cohabiting as before, the burden of proving such cohabitation and condonation rests upon the assailant of the decree..

Cadets not necessarily a path to the military

ALEX MCCUAIG

amccuaig@medicinehatnews.com

The local Army Cadets of the South Alberta Light Horse might be connected with Medicine Hat’s own regiment, but that doesn’t mean local kids have to sign up for the Forces.

Capt. Chris Gerbrandt says the cadets have much to offer youth in the city looking for constructive activities which will assist them in the trenches of adult life.

As Gerbrandt finished putting away makeup used for a joint firstaid exercise with the Air Cadets, he told the News that the number one fear among parents is that their children will become combat soldiers if they join cadets.

“That is probably the biggest thing that deters people from letting their son or daughter be in cadets. But it’s a youth program,” he said.

He explained two of the three aims of the cadets have nothing to do with the military, with leadership training and the promotion of physical fitness being the main goals. The Forces look to promote themselves as its last aim, Gerbrandt says.

“In our program, cadets wear uniforms, obey orders and perform marching drills. However, there is no obligation to join the military,” said Gerbrandt.

Giving kids access to an adventure-based program is what the cadets is all about, he explained.

“We do orienteering, mountain climbing, canoeing and all those kinds of outdoor activities.”

As for what parents can expect from their children who join the Cadets, Gerbrandt said feedback is almost always positive.

“The majority of Cadets who join and have had problems in school — in co-operation with the program — they get better in school and higher marks.”

Leadership skills which they pick up through the program also help build confidence in later life, he said.

International exchanges, school scholarships and summer camps where cadets are paid a small amount are all part of the program, according to Gerbrandt.

Maple Creek 17-year-old Cadet Sgt. Robert Malboeuf said he enjoys the field and wilderness survival training he has received since he first joined three years ago.

“I’ve become a more social person, I know how to take charge. If my friend was hurt, I would know what to do,” he said.

“You meet new friends and have new experiences, do a lot of interesting things — much more exciting than sitting on the couch watching TV or playing games.”

Cadet Master Cpl. William Green said the program has given him more self-esteem.

“I’m able to co-operate with people better,” he said.

His 12-year-old comrade, Cadet Brooke Rae, said girls shouldn’t be afraid to join, either.

“They’re like brothers,” she said, of her male fellow cadets.

Youth between 12 and 18 who may be interested in joining the Cadets can contact Capt. Gerbrandt at 403-581-9111 or

show up at Patterson Armories at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays. The program runs until 9:30 p.m. and parents are encouraged to accompany their child during the first visit. More information is also available by visiting salhcadets.org.

בפייסבוק בדרך כלל אנשים מעירים הערות מעודדות כמו נהדר, משגע, מקסים, אבל ההערות שציטטתי לעיל הן הערות בונות, וכל הערה בונה שווה אלף הערות מעודדות

Constructive criticism, or constructive analysis, is a compassionate attitude towards the person qualified for criticism. Having higher experience, gifts, respect, knowledge in specific field and being able to verbally convince at the same time, this person is intending to uplift the other person materially, morally, emotionally or spiritually. For high probability in succeeding compassionate criticism, the critic has to be in some kind of healthy personal relationship with the other one, which is normally a parent to child, friend to friend, teacher to student, spouse to spouse or any kind of recognized authority in specific field. Hence the word constructive is used so that something is created or visible outcome generated rather than the opposite. Participatory learning in pedagogy is based on these principles of constructive criticism, focusing on positive examples to be emulated over precepts to be followed.

There can be tension between friendly support and useful criticism. A critic might usefully help an individual artist to recognize what is poor or slapdash in their body of work, but the critic may appear harsh and judgmental in the process. Useful criticism is a practical part of constructive criticism.

Virginia Lawyers Divorce Rockbridge Constructive Desertion

Holdings:

The Virginia Court made the following holding:

A spouse is not justified in leaving the other unless the conduct of the other is sufficient to establish the foundation of a judicial proceeding for divorce. This principle remains applicable to claims of constructive desertion. A spouse may not break off cohabitation and successfully claim constructive desertion unless the other’s conduct is sufficient to establish the foundation of a divorce proceeding. Nevertheless, a spouse may be free from legal fault in breaking off cohabitation, and hence entitled to support and maintenance, even though he or she cannot establish the other’s conduct constituted the foundation of a proceeding for divorce.

Constructive criticism is appreciated please! I'm really working on mastering the ambient highlight and shadow feeling in a space. Ambient exposure (without lamp on) blended with a flash exposure (with lamp on). In PS, I cloned out a mop that was in the far back doorway and added just a touch of lamp glow.

Constructive critiques and comments welcome.
