“I enjoy making people laugh. Secondly, because this type of work comes easiest and most naturally to me, I am not a highly emotional type. My sister could cry real tears over two sofa cushions stuffed into a long dress and white lace cap, to look like a dead baby, and she would do it so convincingly that 900 persons out front would weep with her. That is real art, but my kind of talent would lead me to bounce that padded baby up and down on my knee with absurd grimaces that would make the same 900 roar with laughter.” -Constance Talmadge

Un bout d'évasion.

tested another variable ND filter this day. it was much better than the first from a few days before but not as good as fixed filters are. conclusion: fixed ND filters are best and the only filters I'll use for long exposure photos in future.

... in the mood.

Fall is coming but as the weather is still good, these little Zebra spiders keep showing up.

If humans have something in common with jumping spiders, in my opinion, it is the tireless curiosity we/they show about everything.

This one was watching at the light diffuser on my flash light… and a way to climb on it before to disappear completely, leaving me with only one usable photo.

Lake Constance (German: Bodensee) is a lake on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps, and consists of three bodies of water: the Obersee ("upper lake"), the Untersee ("lower lake"), and a connecting stretch of the Rhine, called the Seerhein.

The lake is situated in Germany, Switzerland and Austria near the Alps. Specifically, its shorelines lie in the German federal states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg, and the Swiss cantons of Thurgau and St. Gallen. The Rhine flows into it from the south following the Austro-Swiss frontier.

Lake Constance was first mentioned by the Roman geographer Pomponius Mela about 43 AD. He noted that the Rhine flows through two lakes, and gave them the Latin names Lacus Venetus (Obersee) and Lacus Acronius (Untersee). Pliny the Elder used the name Lacus Brigantinus, after the Roman city of Brigantium (today Bregenz). The lake is also colloquially known as the Swabian Sea (das schwäbische Meer).

The freshwater lake sits at 395 m (1,296 ft) above sea level and is Central Europe's third largest, after Lake Balaton and Lake Geneva. It is 63 km (39 mi) long, and at its widest point, nearly 14 km (8.7 mi). It covers approximately 571 km2 (220 sq mi) of total area. The greatest depth is 252 metres (827 ft) in the middle of the eastern part. Its volume is approximately 1e10 m3 (1.3×1010 cu yd). Lake Constance provides fresh water to many cities in south Germany.

Constance Spry was an inspiration to flower arrangers everywhere for many years. Her style influenced many people, not just florists. You can read about her here:

But seeing how this plant effortlessly cascades down this stonewall with no human intervention reminds me just how beautiful nature is when it is left alone.

Day 4 Travers Sabine Circuit, Nelson Lakes National Park, New Zealand.

We did a side trip to Blue Lake and Lake Constance which is part of the Te Araroa Trail.

Four stitch panorama using Lightroom CC.

Lake Constance is near Blue Lake on the Travers Sabine Circuit, Nelson Lakes National Park, New Zealand. Quite a different colour due to the rock flour/sediment.

Nice Panorama from lake constance (Bodensee).

Back to photography :) After some exhausting weeks with travel to Madrid and Hamburg and a lot of exams and quite much work, i had the chance to take my cam out today. In autumn Constance is quite famous for its fog in the good and the bad way. I acutally love the fog here. It often creates such a nice soft light, when the sun is behind the fog. Like today :)

Will catch up your awesome images later this day and tomorrow.

On saturday I will be with my mate Hans Findling at the Seealpsee in Switzerland to capture sunrise, sunset and the milkyway. It will be great :)

Hope you like it!

Same tree as on my last landscape, no leaves yet. We went there last weekend and found that, apart from some trees, Spring had truly sprung. Back here in Garmisch we have caught up now, everything is green too.
