I removed the console of a treadmill and changed the sliding motor speed controller to a dial from an old stereo. I kept the safety key and removed all other elements making ample space for my laptop. Check out my full writeup here. www.zieak.com/2007/03/28/treadmill-console-mod/

Industrial-style console is perfect to use as a room divider in a smaller place. When the bottom layer is empty it is visually transparent--when needed it can provide substantial storage.

One of the benefits of living with a games journalist is a pre-release PS3. This thing is far too shiny and fingerprint prone to photograph with any ease. It also attracts dust like nothing else on earth :)
I made this console room as a custom diorama for myself, it is made from plastic and card. It was built to fit comfortably into an Ikea display case.
There are a few changes I still want to make to it and the grand father clock was not in the original console room but I thought it looked nice.
