South Plateau, Montana/Idaho Border
The forested trails south of West Yellowstone, Montana offer good snowmobiling. As the service roads wind upward on this plateau bordering the park, the snow deepens. The powder changes consistency up here around 7500 feet. Everything is encapsulated, snow blasted and wind hardened. The woods I was taking for granted visibly change: every tree, every bough, even the needles stand in sharp relief against each other, the entire forest a subject that stands out. They bear their burden stoically, and I am surprised that, in this little meadow, I feel a peace more commonly found on a summer's day. I let the silence wash over me for a while. When the wind picks up and the temperatures drop after sundown, it will be different. But in the soft light of a winter afternoon, maybe this white forest is not such a harsh beauty after all.
Image 2 of 10 in my set of Autumn sketches. It's a bit of a mixed bag, in terms of composition and final processing. The only consistency is that they are all squares.

Taurus is an earth sign represented by the bull. Like their celestial spirit animal, Taureans enjoy relaxing in serene, bucolic environments, surrounded by soft sounds, soothing aromas, and succulent flavors. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the enchanting planet that governs love, beauty, and money. Taurus’s Venusian influence make this earth sign the most sensual of the zodiac: These cosmic oxen are enchanted by any physical manifestation of comfort and luxury. Pleasure is a necessity for epicurean Taureans and they feel most content when pampered. (Taurus governs the neck, so neck caresses are especially irresistible to these bulls.)
It's true that in their perfect world, Taureans would spend all day bathing in a tub overflowing with essential oils. At the same time, these earth signs know the value of a dollar. Taureans aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and work hard to earn big rewards. They're ambitious, focused, and resilient and they feel most secure when steadily putting money into a savings account.
Cosmic oxen are all about return on investment (the bull is also the symbol of Wall Street), and Taureans know how to play the long game in both professional and romantic pursuits. Security is paramount for Taureans and any threat to their stability will be sure to have a celestial bull seeing red.
As a sign, Taurus is fixed, an astrological quality that reflects Taurus’s steadfast, loyal nature. Fixed signs are excellent at maintaining systems and Taureans prioritize consistency and reliability in all areas of their lives. It must be noted, however, that Taurus does have a bit of a reputation: What a Taurus perceives as dedication is often regarded by others as stubbornness. Accordingly, these bulls may end up lingering in unhealthy situations — whether relationships, jobs, or homes — longer than necessary just to prove a point. Despite their occasional obstinance, however, Taureans are dependable partners, soothing their friends and lovers with their trustworthiness and devotion.
Mycena galericulata is a mushroom species commonly known as the common bonnet, the toque mycena, the common mycena or the rosy-gill fairy helmet.
Most sources list the species as inedible, with a "mildly rancid" smell, and with a taste ranging from rancid to farinaceous. An older source considers them edible when "stewed gently in their own juice and then seasoned with salt, pepper and butter." Another says "unknown, but not recommended". At any rate, the species falls into the general category of brownish mycenas that are generally unappetizing as food due to their small-medium size and delicate consistency
In Sardinia its numerical consistency and diffusion suffered a collapse starting from the second part of the last century. The repeated anti-malarial campaigns, the massive poisoning campaigns of foxes with poisoned morsels and hunting, to supply public and private collections with stuffed specimens, have gradually stripped the skies in most of the mountain ranges. Today the Sardinian population, which lives exclusively in the north-western part, is made up of about 30 pairs and is doubly important because it is the only native Italian population and the only population of the western Mediterranean basin with nesting colonies on sea cliffs ( the other sea nesting population is found on some islands of the former Yugoslavia).
I had a blast building this for the Brickz Lab Jedi Fallen Order collab! I am even more happy that my build was to conclude the whole project! Big thanks to everyone who participated, the quality level and consistency were outstanting!
Hope you like my build, it was quite a challenge to achieve the underwater effect with these slanted walls but I think it turned out very well. :)

Hector the Convector is a cumulonimbus thundercloud that forms regularly nearly every afternoon on the Tiwi Islands (90 km NNW of Darwin) in the Northern Territory of Australia, from approximately September to March each year.
Hector is known as one of the world's most consistently large thunderstorms, reaching heights of approximately 20 kilometres (66,000 ft).
Named by US and Australian airforce pilots during the Second World War, (who were attempting to defend Darwin against Japanese bombing) the recurring position of the thunderstorm made it a navigational beacon for pilots and mariners in the region.
Hector is caused primarily by a collision of several sea breeze boundaries across the Tiwi Islands and is known for its consistency and intensity. Lightning rates and updraft speeds are notable aspects of this thunderstorm and during the 1990s National Geographic magazine published a comprehensive study of the storm with pictures of damaged trees and details of updraft speeds and references to tornadic events.
Since the late-1980s the thunderstorm has been the subject of many meteorological studies, many centred on Hector itself, but also utilising the consistency of the storm cell to study other aspects of thunderstorms and lightning.
I Due Pastia. The art of making pasta. Preparing tortellini pasta by traditional methods. Hand. Rolled and cut. We had the opportunity to try our hand at forming tortellini and even with some experience with pasta it was not easy to produce the small ringed shape and couldn’t match the speed and consistency demonstrated by these two ladies.
A mesmerizing full moon elegantly descends just as the burgeoning light of a sparking winter's day makes its presence felt.
Apologies, all, for my woeful lack of consistency lately.

The weather here still can't make up its damn mind about what it wants to be. Tomorrow will reach a sweltering high of 53°F with wind gusts over 40 MPH and then suddenly ramp up to 82°F mere days later. What is consistency? I propose we ditch Earth and find an all 70°F all the time planet.
The near-freezing temperatures and wind on Sunday morning did little to scare off the fifty thousand kinglets currently taking up residence here just outside of Lancaster city. With the weather set to stabilize next week, this might be the last we see of them for a while, assuming the weather ACTUALLY stabilizes next week. I've already lost track of how many times I've jinxed myself over the last few months.

The tallest spire in England, the most harmonious European Cathedral in style with the finest precincts anywhere on the continent, the oldest working clock in the world: the list of superlatives relating to Salisbury Cathedral is impressive. One of the few medieval cathedrals built in the span of a generation, between 1220 and 1258 the nave, transepts and choir were completed; this brief window of construction contributes to its unique consistency of architectural style.
With its tall, narrow, nave and gracile spire, this is a masterpiece of Early English Gothic and remains a living place of Christian worship today. Among recent additions to the interior is William Pye’s much-lauded font, installed in 2008.

It seems the only consistency at work is inconsistency. More changes. Some good, some not. Selfishly, the biggest bummer for me is the loss of my office.
I get to work stupidly early after passing out breakfasts. But I have my office so I have a nice quiet and private place to take a nap. That is about to come to an end.
For the last year, I haven't had to hunt for a place to rest in the mornings. It looks like I'm back to scrounging around looking for a secluded corner for a little peace, quiet, and shut eye.
more than ever before it's about what we do with photography :-)

The deep mudflats of Turnagain Arm are visually stunning, yet they pose a serious threat. These deceptive areas, often resembling solid ground at low tide, can be incredibly deep, with some spots potentially reaching depths of 4 to 5 feet or more. Stepping into such areas can result in sinking rapidly, in some cases, up to one's waist, leaving individuals trapped and in need of immediate rescue. The mud has a quicksand-like consistency, making extraction difficult, particularly when coupled with the fast-moving incoming tides that are characteristic of Turnagain Arm. The combination of sinking mud and the rapidly advancing tidal bore, which can travel at speeds exceeding 10 miles per hour, can create extremely dangerous situations. Therefore, it is strongly advised to avoid venturing onto the Turnagain Arm mudflats.

Spontaneous street portrait of Helena Carter, presenter and reporter for ITV, captured in Brighton, England, in February 2019. Naturally I took spontaneous portraits of the team for them in between locations. This was a lighting test for a backlit shot as all images needed to be natural light with reflector only in order for consistency.
Enjoy this black and white re-edit as I remember working with an awesome team of professionals on an advertising campaign for an international advertising agency. I was working closely with Helena on the shoot in London, Manchester and Brighton over three days and can't believe that this was three years ago!
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend of photography my Flickr friends!

1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp ground cayenne
3 Liters homemade stock (I used crawfish stock but shrimp stock, fish stock, or even chicken/turkey stock can be used here.)
3 tbsp gumbo filé (powdered sassafras leaves)
Scallions sliced for garnish
White rice for serving (Cajuns will often have potato salad in the gumbo but that’s not typical in New Orleans Creole families)
You’ll need:
cast iron Dutch oven
larger soup pot
balloon whisk
flat edged wooden spoon
a beer or a Sazerac cocktail whilst stirring the roux
Over medium-high flame, sear the sliced sausage in the Dutch oven. Once completely browned, remove the sausage and reserve. Deglaze the pot with water and pour this in with the reserved sausage. Refrigerate.
In the same Dutch oven, brown the chicken thighs in the same manner and deglaze again with water, pouring in with the reserved chicken. Refrigerate.
ROUX
Add duck fat to the Dutch oven and heat over medium flame. Once hot, whisk in the flour and blend until uniform consistency; it should be like wet sand, add more flour to reach that texture if needed. Stir the roux constantly with the wooden spoon taking care to scrape the bottom and sides well. You are looking for the roux to reach a dark brown color; this will take some time and patience, maybe even 45 min to and hour. The roux will transition from white, to blonde, to peanut butter, to milk chocolate, and ultimately to dark chocolate fudge color. Aroma should be a nutty character but not acrid or burning. A burnt roux cannot be used and must be re-started. You will know it’s burned if numerous black specks begin to appear in the mix.
Once the roux is dark brown and slightly smoking add the vegetables starting with the onions, then the celery and bell pepper. Cook the aromatics (known as the Trinity) in the roux until quite softened and translucent. Then add the garlic and cook for another few minutes. Add thyme, basil, Creole seasoning, black pepper and cayenne; mix well.
Begin adding stock to the pot and stirring in well. It will be quite thick initially; this is a good time to transfer to the larger soup pot.
In the soup pot over medium-high heat, continue adding the entire three liters of stock gradually as you stir it in.
Once simmering, add the Andouille, the chicken, and the crabs to the pot. Add the parsley.
Turn down the heat and cook at a low boil/simmer for two hours and have another beer.
After two hours, add Crawfish (or shrimp) and cook for another 15 minutes. Add additional salt or Creole seasoning to taste.
Add gumbo filé to the pot right before serving and stir in well.
Serve in bowls with hot rice and garnished with scallions.

It feels good any time of year.
HISTORY: Beer is one of the world's oldest prepared alcoholic drinks.
The earliest archaeological evidence of fermentation consists of 13,000 year-old residues of a beer with the consistency of gruel, used by the semi-nomadic Natufians for ritual feasting, at the Raqefet Cave in the Carmel Mountains near Haifa in northern Israel.
There is evidence that beer was produced at Göbekli Tepe during the Pre-Pottery Neolithic (around 8500 BC to 5500 BC).
The earliest clear chemical evidence of beer produced from barley dates to about 3500–3100 BC, from the site of Godin Tepe in the Zagros Mountains of western Iran.
EARLY CIVILISATIONS: Beer is recorded in the written history of ancient Egypt, and archaeologists speculate that beer was instrumental in the formation of civilisations.
The Sumerians drank a variety of beers, eight types from barley, 12 types from wheat and 3 from a mixture of grains.
The Sumerian goddess Ninkasi was believed to oversee the brewing process, and the production and distribution of beer was attributed there to women.
Approximately 5000 years ago, workers in the city of Uruk (modern day Iraq) were paid by their employers with volumes of beer.
During the building of the Egyptian pyramids, each worker got a daily ration of four to five litres of beer, which served as both nutrition and refreshment and was crucial to the pyramids' construction. (Source: Wikipedia)
(Fuente: Wikipedia)

When I first started shooting film photography with my 6x6 medium format camera, I quickly noticed several differences compared to modern digital cameras. One major distinction was the level of sharpness that modern lens design and high-megapixel digital cameras bring to photography. Another important factor is the consistency of digital images, making it easier to develop a consistent style through editing. On the other hand, film cameras, while not clinically perfect, offer a unique character in their images. It's hard to describe, but film often handles bright light better than digital cameras.
Recently, I developed some images I shot with my Fuji Velvia 50 film on my Bronica 6x6, and I have to say that the color and sharpness easily matched those of my Nikon Z9. I captured the scene while returning from the Salton Sea at sunset, and the colors were stunning. I only had a tree on an unpaved road as a subject, but I wasn't worried as I planned to capture a tree silhouette against the colorful sky. The Velvia captured light as vividly as my Z9, but I couldn't recover much from the shadows. I'll definitely keep more Velvia 50 for my future landscape trips.

Black bears, white-tailed deer, grouse like to eat this plant.
It was used by natives for medicinal purposes as it contains methyl salicylate--used for head aches as the salicylate component is the active ingredient in aspirin. Wintergreen oil can be extracted from the leaves and used as an ointment. Also it makes a herbal tea. The berries flavor is what is used in some toothpastes and the berries are edible, though, mealy in consistency.

It was begun in 1282 and was under construction for 200 years. It is claimed to be the largest brick building in the world. In 2010 the cathedral, along with its episcopal buildings, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its unique architecture and the remarkable consistency in its design.

After a beautiful sunset out by the Peter Iredale, I dashed with intent and purpose toward the spot where I previously shot this. I took that picture with what Canon decides to grace us suckers with as a kit lens, and it's a bit soft and grainy as a result. So here we go again.
The weather has been beautiful, so the Saturday night sky was a glorious dark blue/purple. Very different from the dark, misty night I previously shot on. This is also a two-minute exposure as opposed to a 30-second, giving my "spaghetti" a much thicker consistency. I'm very pleased with the clarity, and I had a great time trying to find this spot again (after weaving all over the top of the hill yet again--I should really write that street down).

The flowering of autumn hawkbit cannot be kept down. Cut the grass and autumn hawkbit pops up like a dandelion. And, like a dandelion, when they are ready, the achenes, the little seed-like fruits, form gliders from their calyx tissue and sail up and away. Then the white head of the autumn hawkbit goes bald, and lays down, secure in the knowledge that in the great diaspora of autumn, its progeny will find lodging and put down roots and that next year they will do as it has done — as autumn hawkbit has done for season upon countless season.
In the seasons, timelessness. In the changes, consistency.
In the fall, the seeds of uprising. In the uprising and the falling,
patience.

Christian mysticism, even if it can benefit from extraordinary insights, does not stray from faith. Authentic mysticism, as a unique phenomenon, is not different from the vision of faith (given from Revelation) but is this very same faith experienced with greater clarity and intensity. In the revealed texts (and especially in Paul and John) there is consistency between faith and mysticism. This is an invitation not to separate the life of faith and mystical experiences, because the two share the same root: the indwelling of the Holy Trinity in the deepest recesses of each member of the Body of Christ.

Fascinant !
THIS IS A COFFEE TABLE
Diameter: about 120 cm
The surface is glazed (unbreakable glass) and the inside is made of a sand-like material of a rather thick consistency.
Initially the appearance of the sand is of straight lines as can be seen on the right side of the table.
Inside, driven by a small electric motor controlled by a computer program, a small ball (red arrow, bottom image) draws programmable figures according to its personal fantasy. Once all the straight lines are covered, the ball starts a new drawing, completely different, or not, according to your choice.
Time between the left and right pictures : about 3 minutes.
Fascinating !
