According to Wikipedia, the enclosed Bridge of Sighs bridge is made of white limestone and has windows with stone bars. It passes over the Rio di Palazzo (officially there are only three canals in Venice, the rest are "rios") and connects the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace (here on the left) to the New Prison. The bridge was designed by Antoni Contino, whose uncle Antonio da Ponte had designed the Rialto Bridge, and was built in 1602. The view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge name, given by Lord Byron in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells. In reality, the days of inquisitions and summary executions were over by the time the bridge was built and the cells under the palace roof were occupied mostly by small-time criminals. In addition, little could be seen from inside the bridge due to the stone grills covering the windows.
This image was captured from a bridge on the Riva degli Schiavoni shortly after 11 PM (after the day trippers have left) and Venice has become manageable again. During the day the bridge from where this image was captured is packed with street merchants selling most anything and with tourists on the way to and from St. Mark's square.

What I do is the opposite of building walls. I build bridges. A bridge is something that connects instead of separating.

The remote location of Alazon is the eastern most point where the former Southern Pacific and Western Pacific railroads connect, about three miles west of Wells, Nevada.
Doug's RVASQ is rolling east on SP's Salt Lake Sub while Union Pacific's NPOAZ rolls west on the former WP Shafter Sub at Alazon. The two lines take vastly different routes east from here.
The SP runs east northeast across the Great Salt Lake into Ogden, while the WP is south southeast along the south shore of the Great Salt Lake into Salt Lake City, Utah.

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” ~CHIEF SEATTLE
The super maxi Law Connect had won the previous two Sydney to Hobart line honours. This year however, there were problems with its sails, and it finished second behind Comanche with a time of 2 days 5 hours 50 minutes and 40 seconds.
Zebra mussel shells that line Lake Michigan's western shore reminded me of the old game of connect-the-dots.
Connecting a small island entirely covered with bulrushes at the bottom of Agua Azul waterfalls to the shore, that path is (still) a mistery to me.

The girl that is hiding behind her mother with a cute smile was following me for a couple of hours in a school we happened to be visiting. She was very curious about what I was doing with a camera in my hands and when I showed her two or three photographs of her she was obviously amazed and delighted. From that moment onwards I could count one more friend.

Sé que es una foto muy cliché, pero me gusta. Tenía la idea de las mariposas hace tiempo, pero ninguna de las fotos que había tomado me convencía, hasta esta :).
Espero que les guste, y tengan un buen dia .

‘‘Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things. And the reason they were able to do that was that they’ve had more experiences than other people.’
