As the saying goes "Thereâs No WiFi in the Forest, but Youâll Get a Stronger Connection". Definitely true here as my friend David (hiker in photo) and I certainly felt a connection with this area, being many miles from any technology grid connection.
People are headed down he escalator in the Atlanta International Terminal to connect to their plane. Also a plane is being pushed back and ready to taxi to the runway leaving the ATL. The HartsfieldâJackson Atlanta International Airport is the busiest airport in North America by passengers (101,491,106).
Connections can do a lot in this world. Painting on paper in my moleskin and structured with gesso, nut and paynes self made ink and some quotes .
Thanks wish You a wonderful day.
#Macro Mondays Theme - Connection
The intricate branch structure of a Clematis shrub (after a rain shower), still busily connecting to anything in its path before the Winter sets in!
Forged out the detailing on the rings today, working on the bars tomorrow, the moving on to the uprights or 'pillars'.
After many a journey, seeking acceptance, warmth and a belonging...she finds it...while on the beach with her "family" she finally makes a true connection. Her story is just beginning.
Thank you for your many gifts Skippy.

One afternoon I walked to the park with my children. While there, I noticed three young children and the oldest sister (who looked too young for this responsibility) appeared to be in charge of her two younger siblings. As I noticed these children I felt so sad for them and concerned for their safety. I used my camera to take some pictures of nature and the middle of the three siblings was watching me. She began talking to me and was very interested in the picture I had just taken, my camera, telling me about her interest in taking pictures, her instant film camera which she doesnât have film for right now, that she would like to have a camera like I had. I told her I hoped someday she could have a camera of her own and she said maybe she could when she was older. She asked if she could see the photo I had just taken so I showed her the image of the leaf on my camera screen and she really liked it. She told me an idea she thought would make a good pictureâacross an open, grassy area, looking into the sunset. I took a quick, simple picture which certainly wasnât fantastic. I showed her the picture and she said she really liked it (I deeply appreciated her kind words) and I told her that the photo was inspired by her. I felt concerned and sad for this girl, afraid of what could happen to her if she met a dangerous person here at the park. I was so thankful that today she was talking to someone who didnât intend to harm her, who cared about her and her wellbeing and I was thankful for the connection we made through our interest in photography. I donât even know what her name was and to me this was a meaningful connection. Due to harmful interpersonal experiences (especially as a child) itâs difficult for me to connect with others and I was thankful that on this day I made a connection with this girl. I would struggle to put into words how these moments were helpful and healing for my own journey and I hope that in some way our time together was perhaps beneficial for this girl as well. While I donât consider these images anything spectacular, seeing them does remind me of the meaningful connection we shared that day.

As a way to cope with circumstances beyond my control, survive and work to keep fighting for life I decided to try to take at least one photo (or more) each day. I call this âa photo (or more) a day.â Practicing this form of therapeutic photography helps me work to focus on the present moment, gives me something familiar and enjoyable to focus on as I use photography skills that have become like second-nature to me and being able to view the images I capture helps me recall what I was thinking, feeling and noticing at the moment when I created the photos. More of the photos from this series can be seen on my Instagram account
I may not always have the energy, time or capacity to share photos from this seriesâespecially with the very challenging circumstances my family and I are experiencingâand will do my best to continue taking a photo (or more) a day even if Iâm not able to share.
If you would like to support my work and my family, one way you can do so is by ordering my zines:
Many thanks for your support.
