In SCUBA diving, it is vital that the connection between the air cylinder and the regulator is completely air tight or you'll find yourself in a very sticky situation!

Tras un duro proceso de adaptacion a la ciudad quise hacer un homenaje a la persona que ha estado y esta siempre a mi lado, mi pareja. Quise representar la conexion existente entre ambos.
Los corazones estan pintados con body painting y la foto esta tomada con la ayuda de un tripode y del "timer" de la camara.
En la foto aparecemos Filippo (mi novio) y yo (fotografa y body painter). Fue la primera foto de una larga serie de imagenes y ha viajado por todo el mundo a traves de las redes sociales con cientos de miles de veces compartidas y de "me gusta".
Aunque el resto de mi trabajo esta fotografiado con una reflex, esta fue tomada con una compacta ya que en ese momento todavia no tenia mi cannon.

This is the front of Sony's new standard compatible hotshoe connection. Since Sony is special, they added these extra contacts in front. I always thought they were just thin wires, so this macro taught me they are a bit more sturdy than I realized.
I really preferred the old Minolta connection. I still miss it. But now that I have gotten into using non-Sony flashes, I am happy not to need a converter (usually). This shot is actually of a converter I need when using my Twin Flash on my e-mount camera. Sony painted/anodized the hotshoes of the e-mount cameras black so there can be grounding issues. Before knowing that, I fried 2 Twin Flashes flashes due to that problem. First one was replaced under warranty because they didn't yet know to tell people the adapter was required for some Sonys. The second died because I forgot my adapter one day and shot with my Sony e-mount camera anyway.
I finally bought a new Venus KuangRen KX-800 Twin Flash about 2 weeks ago and can't believe I went without it for so long. I got this one used on B&H for $200. It looks brand new. Probably someone bought it and changed their mind after taking it out of the box.

This piece is indicative of the bonds I have with people heart to heart. The inspiration for this piece is a precious relationship which opened my heart again when it was so battered and closed, and it allowed me to love life again. The red heart line is the attachment I have to this man's heart. I haven't seen him for years, but I still feel the effect of him being there for me. The other bonds illustrated are lovely people who have given me a hand up, smiled at me, listened when I have needed it.... and more.
My heart is always grateful and always remembers. Always have.. always will.
Part of a Sol LeWitt installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts (Mass MoCA), North Adams, Massachusetts (USA). This pleases me so much.
VIA Rail Train 45 from Ottawa arrives in Brockville ON in the late afternoon of 6 July 1986. The familiar 251 heartbeat sounds out of place in the MLW/Bombardier-designed LRC train, which like its FPA4 predecessors has since been relegated to history. The CP-owned line from Smiths Falls provides a connection to CN's busy Montreal-Toronto corridor at the right of the picture.
Plumbing connections and a hose clamp ( made right here in Burlington by Tridon Industries- who knew???) are devices to connect a part of something to another part of something. DH has a big collection of connectors. He rarely throws ANYTHING out!!!

“Jimmy Simpson Jr.” Peak: The trail is a bit steep and challenging all the way up till the end great views. Hiked on Monday, no other hikers on that day, just four of us. The start of the trailhead was difficult to find, we went to the wrong starting point, it was climber’s route (need rope), not the hiking trailhead, had to slide down along the crushed stones. Finally found the marked little orange ribbons on the trees. Bushwhacking for a good portion at the beginning part of the trail. Felt more like an animal trail and it probably was, until we were on AllTrails “path” as other hikers put the orange ribbons on the trees. We spent quite time stopping to check AllTrials map, to make sure we were on trail, and thanked all the pioneer hikers who tied orange ribbons on the trees as signs. We saw summit when we got to the first viewpoint, not realized it was so difficult to reach… steep and lots of crushed stones. We hiked zig zag patterns, used hands and feet all together for the final 100 meters...
Reaching to the summit, we were rewarded with this panoramic view of Bow Lake and the surrounding glaciers, feeling a connection to the raw power and beauty of nature. The crisp mountain air filling the lungs, and the silence of the high altitude allowing for reflection and introspection… The journey up to the peak was tough, but always rewarded with the fascinating scenery! The colors of the lake changing with wind and light, this special blue-green patterns lasted just couple of minutes!
The experiences on the summit could not be expressed with words! Especially found the black metal box, looks like finding the treasure... under the pile of stones on the summit! There was a small notebook, all the hikers who reached to the summit, wrote down their names on it. The signatures were traced back to 20 years ago! Four of us put our signatures on the last page! There would be metal boxes (Black or Pink) with notebook inside on all the challenging/difficult summits all over the world, it was an honor putting signatures on it. I was so proud of writing my signature with all other hikers' signatures in the past 20 years together in this summit!
Climbed down was a bit easy, we got the right trail path. Next time, we will take orange/pink ribbons to tie on the trees to make the path stand out to help fellow adventurers.
A bit of history: Mount Jimmy Simpson Jr. is a majestic peak located in the Canadian Rockies. It is named after a notable individual, Jimmy Simpson Jr. who loves exploring the great outdoors and is particularly fond of hiking in the Canadian Rockies. One of his favorite hiking spots is Bow Lake, located in Banff National Park, Alberta. Rising high into the sky, Mount Jimmy Simpson Jr. is adorned with rugged cliffs, snow-capped peaks, and pristine alpine meadows. Its slopes are covered in lush forests, showcasing a vibrant display of colors during the changing seasons.

This is the Astoria Bridge which spans the Columbia River connecting Oregon State to Washington State. Taken on the way down to Cannon Beach with Quincy Jefferson who has a wonderful image of this scene as well.
For Macro Mondayse - For the theme "connection" I chose this image taken Saturday 9/2. I work at an eyelash extension and permanent make up studio (Sinful Lashes, Studio City, Ca.) and was asked to photograph a set of lashes being applied. Here you see the "connection" of a mega volume fan with adhesive in preparation for application to a single eyelash. For perspective, each eyelash in the fan is .3mm
The Merry Cemetery (Romanian: Cimitirul Vesel pronounced [t͡ʃimiˈtirul ˈvesel]) is a cemetery in the village of Săpânța, Maramureş county, Romania. It is famous for its colourful tombstones with naïve paintings describing, in an original and poetic manner, the people who are buried there as well as scenes from their lives. The Merry Cemetery became an open-air museum and a national tourist attraction.
The unusual feature of this cemetery is that it diverges from the prevalent belief, culturally shared within European societies – a belief that views death as something indelibly solemn. Connections with the local Dacian culture have been made, a culture whose philosophical tenets presumably vouched for the immortality of the soul and the belief that death was a moment filled with joy and anticipation for a better life (see also Zalmoxianism).
In 2017 there was published the first book, which is a collection of the epithaps from the Merry Cemetery, by young author Roxana Mihalcea, who gathered the epithaps in the volume Crucile de la Săpânța [1] The indisputable merit of this work is the gathering of several hundred legible epitaphs from the Sapanta crosses. The author's texts enrich each chapter with in-depth commentary, accessible to the contemporary public, especially to the urban, less familiar with the rites of rural life in the past. So, the funerary lyrics from Sapanta get a sense beyond the disappeared world it evokes, giving readers valuable information about the everyday life of the village.
For the Macro Mondays theme Connection, a few homonyms. Described in this early 19th century book "The Scholar's Spelling Assistant" as: "Words of similar Sound, but different in Spelling and Sense".

After catching the Ipswich buses 92 from Stutton at 1044 and a smart connection at Bourne bridge I am at Great Eastern square at 1135. Who said we do not have an intergrated transport system!
