Daily Shoot (#ds674) - "Make a photograph that illustrates the idea of connection."
A clicker is my tool of choice to teach new skills to the boys. The key is to make the CONNECTION that a click is always followed by a treat.
Just as the sounds the kibble canister means dinner, and the sounds of you getting the leash means a walk, they quickly learn that the sound of the click means a treat.
The learning really takes off once they figure out their behavior is what is making you click, and by paying attention to what they are doing when they hear that click, they can repeat it, and make you click again.
And the skies will open, and cookies will rain from above!
Henry doesn't have near the drive that Zachary does, but he gets there in the end.
