Daily Shoot (#ds674) - "Make a photograph that illustrates the idea of connection."
A clicker is my tool of choice to teach new skills to the boys. The key is to make the CONNECTION that a click is always followed by a treat.
Just as the sounds the kibble canister means dinner, and the sounds of you getting the leash means a walk, they quickly learn that the sound of the click means a treat.
The learning really takes off once they figure out their behavior is what is making you click, and by paying attention to what they are doing when they hear that click, they can repeat it, and make you click again.
And the skies will open, and cookies will rain from above!
Henry doesn't have near the drive that Zachary does, but he gets there in the end.

Leaders from Pitzer College's Orientation Adventure program reconnect during a break in training.
Orientation Adventure (OA) is the off-campus component of Pitzer’s orientation program. Incoming students spend four days on excursions with 15-20 of their peers in, above, and around the Los Angeles Basin and the greater Southern California area.
Students, staff and faculty constructed each trip to engage the emphasis areas noted in the college’s mission statement: social justice, intercultural understanding, and environmental sensitivity; all while being mindful of OA’s most fundamental goal-- to create environments that fosters meaningful relationships between participants.
