8 years ago, this was a battle field. Today, thanks to the peacebuilding of CPI Kenya, the people of Amaiya are able to build permanent structures, access health care in their neighboring Samburu village, have their children attend Samburu schools, and 2x a week there is a market where Pokots and Samburus trade, sell, socialize, and share fellowship
Members of the Rollins College CAC (Cultural advisory Committee) were learning Help Increase the Peace, a nonviolence, leadership and youth empowerment program created by the American Friends Service Committee. It includes discussions, games, role plays and arts activities.

Photo: Practical training to become a team of mediators
This workshop was the fourth capacity-building workshop organised by HD and THC (in September 2016). The workshop brought together 26 participants including FKUB members, representatives of the Batu Gantung, Waringin, Poka and Rumah Tiga communities, and members of the local peace network. It focused on improving the participants’ understanding of mediation processes and tools. It also sought to provide participants with opportunities to share their experiences of mediation.
