March 2, 2018 - All good things must come to an end! I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture in June 1985. The economy was extremely difficult and no firms were hiring after graduation. I began working at DesignGroup in November 1985. I mainly focused my 32 year career on designing public and university libraries. My role began with library programming, interior design and furniture fixtures and equipment selection. I decided in January 2018 that it was time to begin a new chapter in my life. These are a few photos that were taken at my retirement party. I do miss my coworkers/friends but I get to see them nearly weekly since I am still attending AIA lunch and learn presentations for my CEU's to maintain my architectural license in the State of Ohio.

საქართველოს პრეზიდენტი აცხადებს, რომ, არსებული პოლიტიკის პირობებში, რუსეთის იმპერიის „ჩამოშლა“ გარდაუვალია. როგორც მიხელ სააკაშვილმა გორში, განახლებული დავით აღმაშენებლის სახელობის თავდაცვის აკადემია გახსნისას განაცხადა, რუსეთის იმპერია ძალიან მძიმე მდგომარეობაშია. თუ მე­19-ე საუკუნის დამპყრობლური პოლიტი­კის მცდელობა გაგრძელდა, მისი ჩამოშლა, როგორც ეს თურ-ქსელჩუკების იმპერიას დაემართა დავით აღმაშენებლის დროს, შემდეგ კი - მონღოლთა ურდოს, გარდაუვალია“. „მაგრამ, ჩვენ უნდა გვესმოდეს, რომ ეს ყველა ჩვენს პრობლემას არ გადაწყვეტს. რომც ჩამოიშალოს, ფრთხილად უნდა ვიყოთ. შეიარაღებული ძალების ეფექტურობა, კონსოლიდაცია, ბრძოლისუნარიანობა გადამწყვეტი იქნება”, - განაცხადა საქართველოს პრეზიდენტმა.

განახლებული ეროვნული თავდაცვის აკადემიის კომპლექსში შედის საცხოვრებელი კორპუსები, სასადილო, საკონფერენციო, გასართობი ცენტრი, სასპორტო დარბაზები, აუზი, ღია და დახურული ტიპის სასპორტო მოედნები, სასწავლო კორპუსები, ბიბლიოთეკა, ლაზარეთი და ადმინისტრაციის შენობა. მსმენელები უზრუნველყოფილნი არიან თანამედროვე სტანდარტების შესაბამისი მატერიალურ-ტექნიკური ბაზით, საცხოვრებელი ადგილით, კვებით, უნიფორმით, სამედიცინო მომსახურებით. აკადემიის კურსდამთავრებული იღებს ბაკალავრის ხარისხს და ლეიტენანტის სამხედრო წოდებას. აკადემია მოამზადებს ოფიცრებს ქვეითი, საინჟინრო, ლოგისტიკის, სატანკო, მექანიზირებული, არტილერიის, ავიაციის, საჰაერო თავდაცვის და კავშირგაბმულობის სპეციალიზაციით.

აკადემიაში სწავლა სრულად ფინანსდება საქართველოს თავდაცვის სამინისტროს მიერ.

თავდაცვის აკადემიაში წელს სწავლას 150 მსმენელი იწყებს. ისინი ეროვნული გამოცდების ჩაბარებისა და ფიზიკური და ფსიქოლოგიური ტესტირების გავლის შედეგად ჩაირიცხნენ. აკადემიის პროფესორ-მასწავლებლები კონკურსის წესით შეირჩნენ. ლექციებს მათთან ერთად მსმენელებს უცხოეთიდან მოწვეული პედაგოგებიც ჩაუტარებენ. ბაკალავრიატში სწავლა 4 წლიანი, მაგისტრატურა კი 2 წლიანი იქნება.
