Emily joined Michael, Jonathan, and me for another tasty Power Breakfast at Egg House Cafe this morning. At work we interviewed another job candidate, which was fun again!
Just to see what was possible, I tried booking the VR room in the Media Library. Turns out, you can just book the room, and when you show up they’ll have all the VR stuff ready for you so you can hang out and play VR games! We brought lights and a camera and shot some sexy footage. They project what the player sees on a big screen in there, so it’s pretty cool!

J.S. Cotney, Inc. is a lighting manufacturers rep in Birmingham, AL that provides integrated lighting solutions for a variety of applications.
Rivermarket, located in Tuscaloosa, AL, is one of our projects. The open space at one end of the building is used not only for a regular farmer's market, but also for receptions, events, shows, parties, etc.
The other end of the building features office and conference room space, along with Tuscaloosa tourism information.
For Rivermarket, we provided all of the lighting fixtures and the lighting control system. Even before ground was broken, we created a 3D animation of the space in-house. You can see the completed animation on our YouTube channel.
One the building was nearing completion, we traveled to Tuscaloosa to commission the lighting control system and train their staff on how to use it.

At the new bentley library the group study rooms now have RoomWizards from Steelcase www.steelcase.com/na/roomwizard_products.aspx?f=12117. It is super fancy but all the rooms were booked tonight. The reservation system was also entirely broken. It was the second day the library was open. The site of NASBA’s 108th Annual Meeting, Dana Point, CA, has been the site of several outstanding NASBA meetings. In this inspiring setting, we will exchange new ideas and consider how to help the Boards protect the public by utilizing the best thinking of regulators, professionals, academics and other interested parties.
Throughout the year, NASBA committees and staff have been engaged in communication with the member Boards to keep information flowing. The Annual Meeting is the capstone of those efforts. Speakers from the Financial Accounting Foundation, American Accounting Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and others will join NASBA’s leaders in addressing the major regulatory issues involved in ensuring the Boards’ licensees meet the public’s expectations. Through plenary presentations, regional meetings and informal gatherings, participants will be encouraged to share their views with colleagues from other jurisdictions, and consider the ways in which Accountancy Boards can be responsive to the public’s needs.

განახლებული ეროვნული თავდაცვის აკადემიის კომპლექსში შედის საცხოვრებელი კორპუსები, სასადილო, საკონფერენციო, გასართობი ცენტრი, სასპორტო დარბაზები, აუზი, ღია და დახურული ტიპის სასპორტო მოედნები, სასწავლო კორპუსები, ბიბლიოთეკა, ლაზარეთი და ადმინისტრაციის შენობა. მსმენელები უზრუნველყოფილნი არიან თანამედროვე სტანდარტების შესაბამისი მატერიალურ-ტექნიკური ბაზით, საცხოვრებელი ადგილით, კვებით, უნიფორმით, სამედიცინო მომსახურებით. აკადემიის კურსდამთავრებული იღებს ბაკალავრის ხარისხს და ლეიტენანტის სამხედრო წოდებას. აკადემია მოამზადებს ოფიცრებს ქვეითი, საინჟინრო, ლოგისტიკის, სატანკო, მექანიზირებული, არტილერიის, ავიაციის, საჰაერო თავდაცვის და კავშირგაბმულობის სპეციალიზაციით.

A few days back Facebook's "Memories" dredged up this comment I'd posted in 2010:
'"What do you do for a living, Joel?" Go to meetings. 13 scheduled this week (so far), plus a doctor's appointment....'
This was one of those meetings. Judging by the folks in attendance we were working on integrating our soon-to-be-installed IRP system with Finance's accounting programs. Also judging by those attending I was there primarily as the management rep.
IRP stands for International Registration Program--license plates for trucks.

I took this pic with my phone, and the timestamps tell me that I promptly posted it to Facebook. I called it "Your Tax Dollars at Work."
FB's "Memories" gets the final comment, having found this for me today:
'My work week in retrospect: One meeting added to the thirteen originally scheduled, one cancelled, one rescheduled to April, and two missed because I can't be in two places simultaneously. Had a stretch like this ten years ago; never expected it to happen again.'
A few months later I retired.
