I got this on our guided tour through the Sickla mine. It was quite surprising to find a conference room all of a sudden, and it made for a neat photo or two. I'll definitely hide out here when the zombie apocalypse arrives.

Shooting conferences can get visually boring really fast. Finding interesting images with countless panel discussions, expressionless audience members and in mixed lighting scenarios can be challenging. When I spotted this cowboy hat -- the only one among hundreds of attendees -- I knew exactly the image I wanted.
Guidebook cover for the Providence Anime Conference, a 21+ anime convention held in Providence, RI, October 3-5.
I was asked to make an illustration for the guidebook cover. Since PAC was a convention geared towards older anime fans, I referenced many series from the 60s, 70s and 80s in the design. The illustration is based off drawings a bored high school student would doodle while daydreaming about their favorite anime heroes.

The Joint Security Area (JSA) is the only portion of the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) where North and South Korean forces stand face-to-face. It is often called the Truce Village of Panmunjom (the Truce Village; or simply, Panmunjom) in the media and various military accounts.
The JSA is used by the two Koreas for diplomatic engagements and, until March 1991, was also the site of military negotiations between North Korea and the United Nations Command (UNC). In 2018, North and South Korean officials ordered the JSA to be cleared of all landmines, weapons, guard posts, and personnel. This withdrawal was complete on October 25, 2018 and the JSA now just contains 35 unarmed security guards. The area will also no longer function in its current state and it was agreed that it will now just serve as a tourist attraction. On November 6, 2018, it was announced that the UNC would transfer primary guard duties of the now demilitarized Joint Security Area to both North and South Korea.
