Canadian Pacific train 390 was rolling along the Elgin Subdivision with CP AC4400CW 8506 with its front door wide open being passed by Metra F40C 607 at the B12 interlocking in Franklin Park in 2000.

This was not my best effort.

Had to re upload this photo.. accidentally deleted the original. Anyways this is i believe to be an early 1970s Sears coldspot air conditioner. It is 14,000 btus and is 120v which is probably the largest air conditioner that can be ran on 120v. This is located in a house that is being worked on and this unit will be coming out so i may be getting this one. It has a couple nice features such as an "auto" setting and louvers that move back and forth.

My grandpa has a half roll of pennies from 1957 that have never been in circulation. this is one of them, which he has given to me.

This Great Western Railway locomotive is preserved in what is called its "Barry Condition". This means that it is left in the state in which it was rescued from the Barry scrapyard. The locomotive was delivered by the Swindon locomotive works. It is still impressive - though it is basically a heap of junk now.

47375 'Tinsley Traction Depot Quality Approved' moves back towards the shed in superb external condition. I believe this may be around the time it picked up the Tinsley Traction Depot name in February 1990.

47375 was another of Tinsley's "pet" locos, carrying the depot's name for many years from 1990 onwards (47214 had previously carried the depot name) and would remain allocated to TI until closure in 1998. From there 47375 went to Bescot before withdrawal by EWS in March 1999.

47375 returned to traffic with Fragonset in 2002 following time in the Healey Mills scrap line. The loco moved back to the Sheffield area and was overhauled at Barrow Hill.

A move to Derby (in plain Fragonset black) followed in 2004 where it then sat for over 2 years. Advenza Railfreight took 47375 on in 2007 and a return to Barrow Hill beckoned (without 47375 actually working a train since it left in 2004?) with the loco then moving to Gloucester in it's new owners colours during the Autumn.

In 2008 47375 worked numerous stock moves,it also appeared at galas and on the Lowestoft Airshow trains in July.

Following the demise of Advenza Freight in 2009 the future looked bleak for 47375,it once again returned to Barrow Hill and was withdrawn. From BH it moved to Booths of Rotherham, but managed to escape in June 2009 after purchase by Nemesis Rail.

47375 returned in stunning BR Blue during 2010 and continued to tour the gala circuit. 2011 saw 47375 make a few forays onto the main line, before suffering a main generator flashover at Harefield on 10th May 2012,however the loco did manage to return to work.

47375 managed to find work on the Dartmoor Railway during 2013 before a move to Burton took place, here it was converted for use in Hungary, where it is still located in 2021.

ENGLISH (german below):

Boeing 707 D-ABOC "Berlin" @ TXL today (still airworthy!). This photo was taken June 2007, it's anyones guess what she looks like today considering that the grass and the forest close-by accelerate the rotting process exponentially! And she should "still" be airworthy...

1960 the 707 was the beginning of the Jet-Age for Lufthansa. This is the last of 3 707-400's in working condition! I can't understand why Lufthansa, nor the Airports of Berlin, or anyone else is trying to save this plane from certain destruction... unbelievable!

The plane is left to rot at that location. What a shame!

Used to be on display in front of the main entrance, today it's hidden in the far south-western corner of Tegel Airport. The Lufthansa livery has been painted over in order to counter any "ad"-effect the plane might have (had).

Story behind the aircraft:

The aircraft was painted to resemble the 1960's original, but it never actually served with Lufthansa, it was owned & operated by El Al until early 1986 when it was returned to Boeing which was looking for a 707-400 in good condition. Boeing brought it in to their U.S. shop, did a technical check-up and painted it to match the original livery of the D-ABOC. As every Lufthansa plane the name of D-ABOC was "Berlin". The original D-ABOC was scrapped at Tripoli, Libya, in the early 1980s. This plane was a gift to Lufthansa to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Lufthansa, as well as the 200th Boeing delivered to Lufthansa the same year.

November 1986

Boeing had to trick the russians a little since they refused any West-German plane to fly into Berlin or over East-German airspace. It had to be re-registered as N130KR in order to fly it into Tegel Airport. Lufthansa received it with all honors and after some shuffling it got a nice place in front of the Tegel Airport. In 1998 an ex-purser, now running Tegel, by the name of Lothar Schulz wanted to make a name for himself as a hardass penny-pincher and arranged for D-ABOC to be moved to the parking lot of the Tegel Airport fire station which was closed to the public and that meant the plane was not accessible to the public. Since approx. 2000 she's in her final "resting" place, ready to rot. If not drastic measures are taken this plane will be a total loss, since it's parked on top of grass and next to a dense forest on the south-western edge of Tegel Airport. (Geo-Coordinates: 52.5545, 13.2592)

This plane was delivered to El Al 06/1961 as 4X-ATB.

The real D-ABOC was scrapped @ Tripoli in the early 1980's.

The original 4X-ATB actually was involved in a failed hijacking attempt in 1973.

The pilot successfully went into a steep dive allowing the air-marshalls to shoot and kill the involved terrorists. The plane was on route to New York from Tel Aviv and made an emergency landing at London Heathrow in order to cover up the event.

It's rumored that post East-German elements that work at Tegel and the German Army detachment based there are behind the attempt to have the plane disappear by letting her rot to death. On top todays government of Berlin has many elements that resent this sign of german-american friendship... let's hope that the ones that want to keep this part of Berlin's history alive win in the long run and save her from oblivion and rotting to death...

DEUTSCH:

Boeing 707 D-ABOC @ TXL heute.

If you care about this plane please email or write to Lufthansa and tell them how you fell about all this (nicely;-))

Represantatives of a much bigger radio family enjoying the last wonderful autumn days ;)

At the German concentration camp at Wobbelin, many inmates were found by the U.S. Ninth Army in pitiful condition. Here one of them breaks out in tears when he finds he is not leaving with the first group to the hospital. The Wöbbelin camp, near the city of Ludwigslust, was a subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp. The SS had established Wöbbelin to house concentration camp prisoners whom the SS had evacuated from other camps to prevent their liberation by the Allies. At its height, Wöbbelin held some 5,000 inmates, most of whom were suffering from starvation and disease. On May 2, 1945, the 8th Infantry Division and the 82nd Airborne Division encountered Wöbbelin. Living conditions in the camp when the U.S. 8th Infantry and the 82nd Airborne arrived were deplorable. There was little food or water and some prisoners had resorted to cannibalism. When the units arrived, they found about 1,000 inmates dead in the camp. In the aftermath, the U.S. Army ordered the townspeople in Ludwigslust to visit the camp and bury the dead. On May 7, 1945, the 82nd Airborne Division conducted funeral services for 200 inmates in the town of Ludwigslust. Attending the ceremony were citizens of Ludwigslust, captured German officers, and several hundred members of the airborne division. The U.S. Army chaplain at the service delivered a eulogy stating that:

"The crimes here committed in the name of the German people and by their acquiescence were minor compared to those to be found in concentration camps elsewhere in Germany. Here there were no gas chambers, no crematoria; these men of Holland, Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and France were simply allowed to starve to death. Within four miles of your comfortable homes 4,000 men were forced to live like animals, deprived even of the food you would give to your dogs. In three weeks 1,000 of these men were starved to death; 800 of them were buried in pits in the nearby woods. These 200 who lie before us in these graves were found piled four and five feet high in one building and lying with the sick and dying in other buildings."*

In accordance with a policy mandated by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, the U.S. Army in Ludwigslust ordered "all atrocity victims to be buried in a public place" with crosses placed at the graves of Christians and Stars of David on the Jewish graves, along with a stone monument to commemorate the dead.
