Picked up a hardly used, prime condition 70-200, f/2.8 lens and did some focus test shots. Shots recorded inside in available window light

I met this cute pup on Saturday to take his photos. This gorgeous Portuguese Cattle Dog, Ruckus is up for adoption at www.speakingofdogs.com

He has a heart condition and last I heard, there were no applications filled out for him.

He is just 7 months old, a fun rambunctious pup. His foster mom is lovely but I hope this beautiful boy finds his forever home soon.

Happy first Mother's Day Amy

and also to all you current mothers!

Due to my health condition, I am unable to hold or stabilize a camera for extended periods of time. Additionally, using a tripod has never been enjoyable for me, as it would cause pain when trying to position it correctly and constantly bending over to check the viewfinder. Consequently, I have chosen to explore digital AI artwork as an alternative. I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, as it diverges from traditional photography. However, I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, digital AI artwork fulfills that purpose, at least for the time being.

The rains continue to fall. It rained on St Swithin's Day and so we expect another 40 days of it. As each drop of rain falls, I feel my fear and worries rise. I am once again picking our son up from the floor following a seizure induced fall. His new specialist epilepsy neurologist is seeing us soon and I am documenting his current condition in his ‘seizure diary’. It does not make good reading.

I fear how I will convey this crucial information. I can talk about epilepsy and autism as well as his other conditions fluently and with confidence. But this meeting will be about our son. When I talk about the pain and torment our son lives through each day, I am always overcome with emotion.

The diary will help, and it will contain thoughts and questions that I will refer to if I need prompts. I am not expecting anything in particular, we have been trying different things over many years now. But his condition is getting worse. In front of our very eyes, we see the changes.

My fears are as plentiful as the endless raindrops falling outside. I just hope this new neurologist listens to my story and commits to continuing to support us through whatever the future holds …

My great-grandfather in my maternal side had two-colored eyes. It was very rare that he had one bright ocean blue and the other a medium light gray one. He was of Spanish descent. Family stories were told to us grandchildren that he had a third-eye and can see things ordinary normal folks cannot see. Superstitions I supposed...

"... Superstitions regarding eye colour are related to heterochromia, a rare condition that causes eyes to be different colours.

Some Native American cultures believe that people or animals (especially dogs) with different coloured eyes have the ability to see heaven and earth at the same time. This sounds like a blessing, but in the pagan traditions of Europe, having different coloured eyes was associated with witchcraft."

You all have a happy weekend and as usual thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Several Locals depart from Grand Junction, CO. I've already shown the Local to Parachute and the well-known Potash Local here. Today I'd like to introduce the Montrose Local: Once a week, on Tuesdays, the train leaves Grand Junction in the morning. Two Union Pacific GP locomotives are used. It first travels to Delta, where a silo (probably for grain) is serviced. The two tank cars are then parked directly at the Delta station. Only the timber car running directly behind the locomotives is destined for Montrose. While occasional coal trains also use the line as far as Delta, the Local is the only train on the remaining stretch to Montrose, and the track is in correspondingly poor condition; the maximum speed there is 10 mph.

The picture shows the train pulled by UP 1538 and UP 1358 (both GP40N) on the "fast" section between Grand Junction and Delta, more precisely at the Gunnison River near Whitewater.

Feathers need to be in peak condition for mastery of the air. Common Tern at Walthamstow Wetlands.

The "perfect" condition for a photograph would be totally dependent on what the photographer was aiming for. Just remember that nature is not static, you will not always get a perfect light. All you have to do is enjoy and learn how to take advantage of the conditions presented to you, and produce an image that fulfills your vision :)

Or, the separation of church and foyer. I found this 'ghost town' relic, along with a few other abandoned buildings, while seeking out old grain elevators in rural Saskatchewan. The foyer is separating from the main body of the church. Like most of the buildings in the former town, the church (and the elevators) was in very bad condition.

A few months ago, I posted what I thought was a female Mallard with a condition known as Angel Wings. It turns out the duck was really a juvenile and grew up to be a male! In any case, Angel wings is a deformity in the wing bones, possibly caused by diet, and it renders the duck unable to fly. Fortunately, I saw him two days ago and he appears to be well, although if the bird needs to migrate, he's out of luck and is also more susceptible to predators. Fortunately, there are plenty of other non-migrating ducks in his lake home.

The title is a line from Manfred Manns Blinded By The Light which was penned by Bruce Springsteen. The songs lyrics are bizarre and have very little meaning to me but that does not detract from the songs enormous popularity.

Before knowing the weather condition of the Himalayan region we should understand its geography. The Himalayan region covers an area of 2,250 km with an average width of 200 km.

The forest belt of the Himalayan region consists of Oak, Rhododendron, Birch, Pine, Deodar, and Fir. And the monsoon season in this region lasts for mid June till the end of September. The Himalayas influences the meteorological conditions in the Indian subcontinent to the south and in the Central Asian highlands to the north to a great extent. It acts a climatic divider circulating the air and water system to a great extent. Because of its altitude and location it blocks the passage of the cold winds coming from the north to the Indian sub continent thereby making India's climate much more moderate. It also influences the rainfall pattern in India. The combined effect of rainfall, latitude and altitude largely influences the forests belts in the Himalayan region. The rainfall is mostly recorded during the monsoon time of June to September but it decreases as you travel from east to west. The snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas stretch 2, 250 km from the Namcha Barwa to Nanga Parbat on the Indus. The range extends from east to west up to central-Nepal and then takes a southeast to northwest direction.

One from the archives, but even more relevant when most folks are too hot this summer.

Adult male Turkestan (Red-tailed) Shrike enjoying the golden hour morning sunshine on the Suffolk coast. It should be migrating south from central Asia at this time of year.

it is in prime condition and feeding well on various bugs, wasps and bees.

It was pretty special to get to the coast just before dawn and watch the sun rise from the sea with virtually no clouds in the sky and no wind.

Fingers crossed for this stunning bird.
