Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is spices and condiments.
And I took this picture very, very late on Friday night. I was super busy during the day and I had a very hard time deciding on a concept and most importantly on a spice to photograph… And since I’m not a very good cook my spices and condiments are pretty basic ( Note to myself: is Nutella a condiment ? How about tonic water ? Gin ?). Usually I just grab whatever is near my hand and throw it in a pot with some meat or vegetables (depending on what is cooking) and hoping for the best lol
That is exactly what happened for this picture and so we have a cinnamon picture (where and when did I got cinnamon sticks ? I have no idea so they must be pretty old lol). I hope you like it my friends. Have a beautiful day and see you later!!

From left :You may know Japanese horseradish (known as wasabi) is used to eat sushi or sashimi (raw fish), mustard is used for oden (Japanese one pot dish) and etc. and garlic is worldwide used to many types of dishes. I squeezed from three tubes and put on a teaspoon.

I decided to take a shot of this multicoloured peppercorns to participate on the upcoming them called condiments. So what you see are multiple different peppercorns such as black, white, green and red pepper.

A table condiment or table sauce is more specifically a condiment that is served separately from the food and is added to taste by the diner.

Others restrict the definition to include only "prepared food compound[s], containing one or more spices", which are added to food after the cooking process, such as mustard, ketchup or mint sauce.

Smile on Saturday#Spices and condiments
These are dried herbs. To keep the color on them for a long time, I pick whole branches with leaves and let them hang upside down in a dark, dry place with plenty of fresh air. In the jars at the top of the picture are dried leaves, then I pick only the leaves but they fade quickly, the taste and smell remain the same. These are rosemary, sage and thyme from my garden.
