A bit of scaperboard artwork here I suspect on the cover of the Winter 1950 - 1951 Condensed Time Tables issued by the Canadain Pacific Railway - as noted this was for use of passengers arriving by Atlantic Steamships. CP used to market themselves as spanning the globe via their Atlantic and Pacific steamship routes allied to their Trans-Canadian railway lines and perhaps there was a version fo this for arrival by Pacific Steamships.
The artwork is a little 'old fashioned' in some respects for 1950 but it is wonderfully detailed and eye-catching as the train steams across what appears to be a prairie landscape, even down to a couple of telegraph poles far right.
So as not to post too many of myself in this dress I will condense this into tree.
The ever increasing growth of Helen I seem to have started small and gradually got bigger in these photos Very odd.
So this is a three differing ways to the same dress that gives slightly different qualities to the out fit.
The first is greenish blue taffeta dress worn with the old Dorothy Perkins tie front blouse. I wore the blouse more like a wrap around blouse tying it at back and finished the whole look by adding the belt that matched my flat shoes. well had to walk to Janet's but I did take heels for photos at her house. I rather like this look as it is more in keeping with the modern view of fifties/early sixties fashion
The next photo is the same except for the belt. its like spot the difference isn't it.
The winner gets to take me out for a meal the loser gets to take me shopping lol.
Back to the outfit. I think this version makes for a nice outfit for those shopping trips that involve posh boutiques and lunch on the river bank. I would wear this for a general trip out, Yeah I like being looked at
The third version is just a nice outfit for those special occasions like a day at the horses, weddings, christenings that type of thing,
I am rather pleased that I can get into this dress slightly better than a year or so ago . Yes it is a bit snug but not to bad.
I held the condensor lens in front of the lensless body of my experimental Olympus pen E-PL1. Perfectly imperfect! Nevermind!
"Borden's Condensed Milk, Bottled Milk & Cream. Gail Borden, Eagle Brand. Office, No. 227 East 34th St."
A real photo postcard of a milkman with his horse and delivery wagon in New York City.
One of my favorites! Soaked with the cream-condensed milk-evaporated milk-rum syrup, covered with meringue. Recipe in my blog.
Taken shortly after the last photo uploaded. The rising tide forced me off the rock I had set up on so I chose a new spot on the gravel beach itself. I set up and took a landscape shot, but felt that there was too little to hold the attention at the edges of the frame so recomposed portrait with the intention of cropping off the top quarter of dark sky to leave this square.
