Ball Cam is an innovative camera-in-a-ball that Lizzie Sykes invented. She uses the cam in collaboration with dancers to produce a series of highly original dance/video pieces in which the dancers themselves are able to control the camera. These are photos of 'Compass' - a live perfomance event by Olu Tawio and Lizzie Sykes that took place at the exhibition.
ARTIST STATEMENT
"At the core of my work is the moving image. Other dynamic forms I work
with are dance, landscape and recently sound... combined with video. I love
the concept of cameras. The physical, immediate, sometimes playful nature
of the work means that now and then I need to create cameras, or bits of
cameras, to achieve the response in myself and an audience that I’m looking
for.
"Ultimately, the films are all collaborations that evolve from a response to an
initial idea. That starting point is the beginning of an organic process where
I develop and devise an idea, one that often changes out of all recognition by
working at it physically, on location."

This is a slightly corrected version of this, because it had a bug in the algorithm which makes environment mapping (note slightly different geometry of reflections)
This has been made with OpenGL on linux. The image used for the environment map (the Cauldron of Creation) has been produced by Sébastien Perez-Duarte, to whom I want to give congratulations for his wonderfull work.
I've added specular highlights which are located in such a way that they agree with main luminaries in the photograph used for the environment map. I tried to emphasize brightness.

A test render of the tire and rim set that I am planning for an upcoming car render. The set was modeled in 3DS Max and VRAY. As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.
This 3D model was created in Autodesk Maya 2009 and rendered with Mental Ray. This model is based on the Black Costume Spider-man Minimate toy.
OK, so the reason I've been so slack with posting this week is because I've really been getting back into my 3D design work again.
This image is totally computer generated, there is nothing real in it.
