Lisa's R3000 laptop had the power plug stop working. It required disassembling the entire thing to install another or use the expansion port on the side for power. Commercial cables for that are $130-$220 and hard to find so I used this homemade fix I found on tomshardware.com forum using an old pci card I cut up, a $3.50 plug from radio shack and part of an old battery holder. Works surprisingly well, if I say so myself. I wish I could have hid the wires for a cleaner look but it works and saved the laptop.

2006

created a series of shots in the computer room as i was trying to finish a photo assignment while at (a very quiet day of) work.

The new computer I built to use at work. Quad-core, 32 GB solid state drive, 4 GB RAM, etc. I ended up adding an 80 GB IDE HDD I had lying around. I love these Storm Scout cases; this is the third one I've used.

Installation of the Cateye Strada cycle computer was pretty easy used included twist ties for the cadence (pedal revolutions per second) and distance/speed sensors.

Box a new MS keyboard arrived in. The computer store sent me a super cheap cable with it to satisfy the hardware requirement. :)

The name is tank. It's big, it's threatning, it's hard to move.

What's left of a CD after "expansion disintegration" in a 48X drive.

My cat sleeping under my computer desk. Note the filthy wall behind her.

Some of Doug's computer parts. What is he working on?

Alec's computer randomly glitched out the other night, it's fine now but made for an awesome visual.

I think my Dell is telling me something ... like buy an iBook.
