The county's waste management department held their annual hazardous waste dropoff in the parking lot of a local college. I freed up some room in my garage by unloading some paint and electronics, including the first video camcorder I ever owned. Technically, some features still work but it's bulkiness and a host of other issues made disposing of it a pretty easy choice. I'll miss it just the same.
These pics show my office in Berlin, Jan through May 2012. I was a visiting researcher at Humboldt University, Department of Social Sciences. The office was/is in Ziegelstrasse 13c. The place is actually really nice, I just try to maximize its spookiness on the photos.

It's hard to see, but that nightstand computer is part of a CRAY system! (You can almost make out the logo near the middle of the front.)

Timothy is absolutely hooked on the Catz program on the computer. He hasn't learned to switch it on for himself yet, so he complains until we do it for him.
I've been upgraded to Windows 10 at work, which means whenever there's a computer or network issue, I get to enjoy a second layer of it.
The restore failed miserably and threw me into some sort of boot loop. I finally did get it booted up, back to the screwed up Windows 10 that I ended up with after the mandatory anniversary update. So I backed everything up, wiped everything clean, and installed Windows 7. Problem solved for as long as this laptop lasts. I was too afraid that future updates would screw everything up again if I stayed with Windows 10, especially since Microsoft was unable to solve my issues by any means other than a system restore.
