We had funding set aside to pay for new computer desks and they are at long last completed and ready for installation! Doing so involves working with Public Works and IT, both of whom we work with on all kinds of projects throughout the year.
Along with the new computer desks are additional spots for work stations. We have two gifts coming to us: one from the Friends and one from a partnership we have with a local business, Dollar Self Storage. Between the two of them we will be adding a total of 27 stations!!!!! Along with this comes the need for improved and additional infrastructure, both electric and network cables. The donations will also help defray the cost of these upgrades. We really do have some wonderful partners in the community and outstanding City staff to help us get this all in place!

was thinking "why not" and decided to build a computer. took a day and a half. using 10 year old monitor and speakers (old gateway)and a 21 year old keyboard (google ibm model m) from and OLD IBM of ours
Op zaterdag 16 juni 2012 vond de derde sessie plaats van "Digidokter". Orde scheppen in chaos geeft altijd een zekere voldoening, of je nu filosoof, wetenschapper of huisvader bent. We maken er echter maar al te vaak een potje van.
Dit keer hadden we het daarom een ganse voormiddag over de Windows Verkenner: bestanden en mappen zoeken, ordenen, verplaatsen en kopiëren, verschillende bestandstypes onderscheiden (docx, pptx, xls, mp3, jpg) enz.
Na de lezing (10u-11u) volgde er een 'spreekuur' (11u-12u) waarin iedereen allerhande PC-vragen kon stellen.

he travelled all this way to buy a computer ignore his sister, and play games. he's even (shock horror) turned down the world of hot yoga to stay and play!
he only he knew what he'd be missing..
