My pile of computing while I was at University.

Has anything changed much in 25 years? Yes.

In the 1970s there was a dramatic shift from room-sized mainframe computers to personal machines for ordinary users. the personal computing industry grew exponentially as customers were keen to become part of the "future" of computing. many home computers are remembered with fondness and nostalgia. I bought my beloved Commodore 64 whilst at university in 1983.

Seen here at centre right, the Commodore 64 had 64k memory (RAM), a MOS 6510 processor and a BASIC operating system. Primarily built as a machine for playing computer games, over 17 million were sold worldwide between 1982 and 1993.
