HISTORY
Pillar completed 29th May 1948 costing £6.5s.6d. Computed as triangulation secondary station NO42/14 in the Dundee block during 1948. This station was also used for the reconnaissance of secondary block NO02 (Perth) during 1951. Flush bracket S4731 was levelled for height to first class precision, tertiary standards in October 1953. This marker was last maintained by the OS in March 1988.
SITE VISIT
Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open showing rusting centre pipe. FB faces 75°, ENE. All four sighting holes cemented but RHS hole opening. Grazing top with big views all round. Vista includes Lucklaw Hill, Normans Law, Mount Hill, Largo Law, Dunbog Hill, Lammer Law, East Lomond, West Lomond, Glencarse Hill, Benarty Hill, Binn Hill, Ben Cleugh, Craig Rossie, Obney Hill, Carn Liath, Ben Vrackie, Carn Gower, Bandirran Hill, Kings Seat, Kinnaird Hill, Craigowl, Dundee Law.
