"Hello, muggers! I'm carrying a $2,000 piece of technology!"
As always, I hope the amount of work done in the 40-minute commute is worth more than the potential risk of having a couple grands' worth of machinery stolen.
Granted, on any given day there are countless people carrying laptops in their bags, but it seems pretty stupid to advertise the fact that you do indeed have a computer with you.

Digi-Key Collegiate Computing Competition 2008
Photos from the 2008 Digi-Key Collegiate Computing Competition. The University of Minnesota, Morris, sent two teams (Flexible Tornados and Monkey Island Mafia), and the Flexible Tornados took first place in the overall competition!
Most of these photos are of UMM's teams, but some are of Digi-Key's staff (in the dark-ish green shirts) and faculty and students from other institutions.
These have been shrunk to speed up the uploading process, but other than that all these have been posted "as is" without any cleaning, cropping, or other editing.

Project by Bo Chen Wei and Yurong Xia. Using camera tracking of fiducial markers, the surfaces of the dominos trigger different musical samples, ranging in character from drums, melody, silence, classical and so on, the player(s) can create music simply by playing dominos or forming stacks of falling dominos. Alternatively, the player can deliberately organise the pieces on the board to form specific musical results. Due to the many domino pieces, a very rich palette of samples is available. This project was developed in the Interactive Sound Studio 2008 University of Sydney.
