It was on a 2004 trip to Ucluelet on Vancouver Island that I got turned on to composting. Even here, in dry, hot Arizona, one can turn leaves, twigs, coffee grinds, fruit peels, vegetable ends, egg shells, stuff you previously just tossed into the waste stream... into beautiful black organic soil.

A bin located at Southside Service on Main Street in Stonewall, MB. People from town who want a small amount of compost can go there and grab some. It's free, but if they want to leave a donation for Southwest District Palliative Care (a great community organization) with Pat at Southside we wouldn't turn it down. I do believe Palliative Care will even mail you a tax deductible receipt if the donation is $20 or more (but don't quote me on that one).
