... if the summer comes to an end now so slowly. One feels already sometimes how the nature prepares for it. Has found some sentences in addition:
The darkness
begins again earlier
and smokier breathes
the wilted nature.
The foliage covers
rustling the ways,
the autumn already signs
his coloured track.
Still summer
and, nevertheless, already past.
In the morning as a white frost ends
the fog in the grass.
At noon seems
still the warming sun,
if she transforms him
in pearls of glass.

It is the glow of a glow worm in the night.
It is the breath of a buffalo in winter.
It is the small shadow that scurries across the grass
and gets lost in the sunset.

Was ist Leben?

Yesterday, I stayed 4 hours to attend this beautiful scene of animal life that I particularly like because they are birds that I really like to observe from a distance..!!
The grebes take turns on the nest and consolidate it...
There are four eggs...
We will have to wait for the birth of the great crested grebes.....
This is the first brood of these great crested grebes.
I hope to attend the births.
The Great Crested Grebe nests between April and July.
At this time, adults wear a double crest and brown ear flaps framing their heads.
The nest can rest on a muddy bottom but it is designed in principle to be flush with the surface.
It can also float but it is then secured to a stump or a bundle of intertwined plants.
The adults fill the shallow cup with plants which are used to cover the eggs if the adults are absent from the nest. The laying is composed of 3 to 6 white eggs which then turn brown and therefore become more discreet.
Adults brood taking turns every few hours. Hatching occurs after 28 days.
The young are able to swim immediately but they remain dependent on their parents for several weeks.
A big thank you to all of you for your visits and your comments which are always very much appreciated.
Wow - While digging through my photo editing program, Luminar AI, I came across a template, formerly called a preset. And poof, the photo with the clear blue evening sky wasn't so boring anymore.

The Lookout is a rock arch at El Mirador Beach in Cozumel that forms a bridge over the water. Over thousands of years the coral rock that composes the Caribbean Sea bed has been pounded by waves which have eroded the reef into this beautiful natural bridge. Visitors can climb on top of the rock formation to enjoy the views across the Caribbean Sea toward Cuba and watch the ocean splashing giant waves against the rocks.
The rock is composed of a mineral called Arkose. Granite like with Feldspar. The iron in Feldspar reacts with oxygen in the air to give us the orange-red colour. Newly broken bits will be grey to white in colour.
I composed this scene very close to the cabin I photographed in the last image. I felt that the scene needed some more drama, as the lines directly seem to lead into the fog and into the unknown. Picture taken at about 2000m asl. Praxmar 2019.
On my work bench behind the furnace in the basement I have found a zen practice of still life photography.
Using work lights, plastic boxes as filters, and paining the image during it's 8 second exposure with a flashlight.
.... and then of course came the lemonade part of the experience.
Arranging the leaves, branches, and fruit was quite frustrating.
I took that very aspect of difficulty and frustration and
channeled it into an intentional interaction with the flora.
They have to pretty much be all be in one plane to focus properly and their spacial arrangement must be composed aesthetically.
The light has to wash across them all evenly as well.
All the while like children they are jostling and moving about.
So I changed my attitude and transformed the whole drawn out experience into a ZEN meditation..... Nothing else matters during my time calmly concentrating on the steps needed to get the right shot....
And in the process I have managed to bring that same attitude to the frustrations I meet in real life... (sometimes it works, and .....

The San Francisco Bay Bridge is not as famous as the Golden Gate Bridge, nevertheless it is a very pretty structure.
Today I gave a "composition in the field" class to students of the Digital Photo Academy. We learned about ND (neutral density) filters in broad daylight. For this photo I stacked two ND8 filters, set the ISO to 100 and aperture to f22 to get an exposure time of 4 seconds. This smoothes out the waves nicely. The ND filters also change the colors a bit, e.g. they are not totally neutral. We get these beautiful turquoise tones because of it.
I processed a balanced HDR photo from a long exposure RAW image.

Muskrat Love.

Muskrat Love.
An observation that I have made for several years over the seasons from spring to late fall. Always observed in counter light, but really beautiful to observe and hear when they whisper to each other. You probably guessed it, I'm talking about the relationship we humans call Love. Love between these two cute, little Muskrats named Sam & Susie... Every time I watch them, an old song comes to mind, Muskrat Love composed by Willis Alan Ramsey in the 70s... This song qualified as Soft Rock has since been done over and over by several groups and singers and today it's still a classic.

It is a perennial shrub or tree, very popular in tropical landscaping, which has a woody, erect, branched and thorny stem.
The inflorescences are composed of red, orange-red, pinkish-red or yellow flowers, depending on the variety, all characterized by long stamens. Flowering occurs in spring and summer.
The fruits are of the vegetable type and appear in Autumn.
It should be grown in full sun or partial shade, but is tolerant of light cold, in subtropical or Mediterranean climates, becoming deciduous (loses its leaves in Winter). It is multiplied by seeds.
Some peoples use the plant as a medicinal plant, with anti-inflammatory properties, but care must be taken as it is a toxic plant, including abortifacient.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,300 kilometres over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. This reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps. It supports a wide diversity of life and was selected as a World Heritage Site in 1981. The Great Barrier Reef has long been known to and used by the Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and is an important part of local groups' cultures and spirituality. The reef is a very popular destination for tourists, especially in the Whitsunday Islands and Cairns regions. Tourism is an important economic activity for the region, generating over A$3 billion per year. 22837
