On the turn following activation, the Promethean can strike a material object (not a living creature) and ignore one point of the object’s Durability per dot of Stamina she has. If the Created fails to inflict any damage at all on the object she strikes, however, she herself suffers a number of dice of bashing damage equal to the Durability of the object she attacked. Normally, the Promethean must spend one turn channeling Pyros before she can strike her target. She can choose instead to spend the Pyros and strike in the same turn, but doing so causes her to lose her Defense that turn.

There are five Might Transmutations, ranging from one to five dots, and each must be learned in sequential order beginning with the one-dot version. With the one-dot ver- sion, the Promethean need only spend one Pyros to gain a +1 bonus to his Strength for the duration of the scene. Each additionalleveloftheMightTransmutationaddsanother+1 bonus, up to a maximum bonus of +5 at the five-dot level. Regardless of how many levels of the Transmutation are taken or what bonus is gained, the Promethean needs to spend only a single Pyros to activate all of his Might Transmutations for the entire scene. Once active, additional Strength dots are considered normal Strength for purposes of Transmuta- tions that multiply the Created’s normal Attribute, such as Shoulders of Atlas or Titanic Vigor (pp. 150-153).

>Rote-Action Repetition (mild): A character suffering from this derangement attempts to replace her conscious thought with preprogrammed impulses. This derangement is especially common in Prometheans who were created with menial tasks or subservience in mind. In effect, the character “turns off” higher thought and regresses into an automatic state of task completion. A character under the influence of rote-action repetition might cease to pay attention to a discussion and instead count grains of salt or cubes of sugar. He might stack boxes and ignore someone trying to threaten him. He might sweep an immaculate foyer instead of dealing with the raging fire behind him, or he might simply perform mental arithmetic instead of facing the sorcerer menacing his throng.
Effect: If a stressful situation arises, the player rolls Resolve + Composure. If the roll is successful, the player may act as normal for the duration of the scene. If the roll fails, the character absorbs herself in some meaningless, trivial task (preferably one related to her personality) instead of facing the issue. Such characters suffer a –2 penalty to all dice pools while the stressful situation persists, with the exception of dice pools related to their rote-action repetition. This penalty reflects the distraction the character feels while she’d rather be cataloguing the books on the shelves rather than negotiating with the hostile vampire in the library. This derangement is similar to obsessive compulsion (World of Darkness Rulebook, p. 98) but is not as severe or debilitating. It’s intended as more of a minor autonomic quirk than a full-blown obsession.

History: As all member of his lineage, Drudge was meant to be a slave. He had been grafted together from the bodies of several minors that had been recovered from a collapsed mine. Their bodies crushed by the powerful fury of earth. His creator, another Golem performing his Great Work, had thought it fitting to make create another from the goodies of those who labored within the earth. Dru was given a might and powerful form in honor of the miners and out of respect for the strength of the Earth.
He was then buried in the earth, when the fire of life sparked; he absorbed some of the earth’s might. Using that strength, he clawed himself free from the ground. Upon reaching the surface, his Creator forced Dru to work hard building a new laboratory. whenever Dru would slow, his new creator would either whip him or burn his flesh with red hot metal. Ad Dru cried out in agony for answers, the only answer that would come to him was, “You must learn to bear the yoke, Slave.” For years, the abuse and slavery went on. Forced to dig, to build…there was no task to mundane for Dru to perform. When all the major work was done, his creator forced Dru to stack massive rocks in a towering pile. Then once that was completed, to take one boulder at a time, moved it hundreds of yards away, and restack them.
All the while, Dru endured this. Patient as the earth that gave him life and strength. However, something hot began to build within his chest. While he toiled endlessly for his Creator, Dur began to learn things about him. He learned that he wasn’t alive, though his creator told him that many times but he always thought it was to degrade him. However, he began to see proof of how he was built in the labs of his Creator. He learned that his Creator spoke truth that he was made to be a slave, to toil endlessly without thought. Over the years of beatings and forced labor, Dru found similarities between the Creator and himself. The marking on the forehead, their powerful build…Dru finally realized that Creator was a Golem!
Fury filled Dru. How could his own kind abuse him like this. In essence, Dru was his Creator’s child and yet for half a decade, he was tortured and enslaved. Dru’s mind finally snapped. The fury that had been growing unleashed itself like a terrible earthquake, the ground rumbled under the heavy feet of Dru as he launched himself upon his creator. Fists as hard as diamond began to pummel his Creator. The two golems unleashed their fury upon one another four hours. Built like mountains, they could shrug off the blows while putting all the rage they could into their fists.
The Creator’s rage began to subside first. Feeling the strength bleed off him, he was forced to flee from Dru. When Dru’s consciousness regained control, he stood within ruins of his Creator’s lab. Since then, he’s been searching out his Creator. He plans to finish him off. While technically free and working on his own Great Work, Dru must destroy the thing that made him in order to be truly free. The path led him into New Orleans. Here, he will find his Creator and here is where he will find a true purpose. His education in what he truly is, is incomplete. There are many elements of what it means to be Created are unknown to him, he presses on seeking his answers, his vengeance and his freedom.

Artist - Philip Grausman
1993 cast aluminum, 1/3 108" x 118" x 118"
Philip Grausman has risen to become one of the most well-acclaimed portrait sculptors of his time. Grausman's portraits take on a realistic nature, giving life and personality to his figures. Large-scale Leucantha stands tall with a stoic persona. Grausman's fine workmanship and choice of material, cast aluminum, gives Leucantha a silky complexion making her seem ageless--belonging to no specific period of time. The female head is carried gracefully on a muscled neck imparting inner strength and self-assuredness. Grausman has had a successful career teaching at Yale University and he is also known for his studies of birds.
In 1959, Grausman studied with Jose de Greeft at the Art Students League in New York City, NY and earned a MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. His work is included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, NY; the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY; the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, CT. Grausman has participated in over eighty solo and group exhibitions at prestigious venues throughout the world, a selection of which includes: the National Academy of Design, New York City, NY; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York City, NY; New Arts Gallery, Litchfield, CT; Hollycroft Foundation, The Sculpture Mile, Madison, CT; Pier Walk 2000, Navy Pier, Chicago, IL; DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA; Wadsworth Atheeum, Hartford, CT; American Academy in Rome, Rome, Italy. My two Aurora Dolls have been fully deboxed, and are standing side by side. They are both supported by Kaiser stands. They were made for the Disney Maleficent live action movie (wide release on May 30, 2014), by Tollytots, a division of Jakks Pacific. On the left the Beloved Aurora Doll, in the simpler blue satin outfit. On the right is the Royal Coronation Aurora Doll, in a much more detailed gold brocade dress, with matching train. She also has a gold crown of a floral design. The dolls have identical bodies and faces, very similar hair styles, and shoes of the same style (but different colors). They are both about 11 1/2 inches tall in their high heeled shoes, but Coronation Aurora appears to be 1/8 inch taller.
Review of Beloved Aurora Doll
Both Beloved and Royal Coronation Aurora dolls have identical faces. Her face is pretty, but bland and generic. She only has a passing resemblance to the movie character, as portrayed by Elle Fanning. She doesn't have very realistic features, but looks like an ordinary doll painted to look like an animated character. She has a light complexion, small blue green eyes gazing straight ahead, brown eyebrows, small straight nose, light pink lips on a small mouth, large chin, and light rouge on her cheeks.
Her hair out of the box is much neater than Coronation Aurora's hair. Like the other doll, she has a long side curl down the left side of her head. It is bit stiff from hair product, and is a much tighter curl than the one on Coronation Aurora. There is also some hair product in the side bangs right over her forehead. The rest of her hair is loose and gently wavy down the her back to her hips, and is soft and smooth. Her hair is thinly rooted hair over most of her head, so a bald spot is visible right behind her side bangs. Also bald spots are easily visible if her hair is moved around on the top of her head. It would help if she had some hair ornaments or headdress to help hide the bald spots.
Her outfit is very simple. It is a full length one piece dress, made of light blue satin, with gold glitter decoration, white organza trim at the collar, flared full length sleeves, and a plastic belt around her waist with a hanging piece down the front of her dress. The satin is shiny and very smooth, and the glitter does not shed at all. In addition to the gold glitter, there is also printed flowers in the hem of the dress. She is wearing the same style high heeled shoes as Coronation Aurora, but these are light blue in color instead of tan.

Packaging and Deboxing the Beloved Aurora Doll
Deboxing the Beloved Aurora Doll by Tollytots/Jakks Pacific was more difficult than for the Coronation Aurora doll. In order to remove the front plastic cover from the box, it was necessary to almost tear the back of the box apart, as the two layers of the backing were taped and glued shut. The tabs of the plastic cover were also taped and glued to the inside of the backing. The box would need a lot of tape to put it back together securely, if it were to be reused for storing or displaying the doll in the box. And the tearing apart of the backing of course creased and weakened the cardboard.
Aurora is standing on a small cardboard spacer. Behind her is a printed background from the movie, which is common to all the dolls in this series. Unfortunately, the bottom of the backing was not square to the back side, so the doll would fall face forward if I tried to stand her up in the backing.
Removing her from the backing was very easy, especially compared to most Disney Store dolls. There was only plastic T-tab fasteners securing her to the backing and the plastic spacer. It was possible to reach all the fasteners and snip them off, without having to remove the large plastic spacer, including the one through the back of her head. The remaining post sticking out of her head was snipped off as close to her scalp as possible, without cutting her hair. Unlike Coronation Aurora, there was no tissue paper around her legs.
Review of Royal Coronation Aurora Doll

She has long golden blonde hair that reaches her hips. There is a solitary long curl hanging from her left side. The rest of her hair is slightly wavy, and is grouped in a single mass, which I left alone. It would look better if it were combed out, but I was afraid that it might get frizzy if I attempted to do so. The hair is shiny and soft, and doesn't appear to have any hair product.
The dress is golden brocaded satin, with a floral design. The underside is very light tan in color. There is also a painted floral overlay in pink and green, which is only in the front of the dress (the front of the skirt and bodice). There is golden lace trim at the hem, waist and collar and cuffs. Her collar and cuffs end in white organza. The skirt is pleated, and almost floor length. The bodice has a high waist, with a golden belt sewn around it. Her sleeves are full length. There is a over sized train sewn to the back of the dress, just below the waist. It made of the same material and has the same decoration as the front of the skirt. Its underside is fully lined with gold satin. The dress looks and feels luxurious, and fit for royalty.
She is wearing tan colored heels, with a simulated strap and an unpainted embossed floral design. She is wearing a gold colored plastic crown that is made to look like a floral wreath, that goes halfway around her head. It is secured only by two T-tab fasteners, so it is not meant to be removed or used on other dolls.
Her body is made of hard plastic throughout. She has seven points of articulation: her neck, shoulders, elbows and hips. Her hands are permanently tilted back to make the standard Princess pose. Her feet are fixed at an angle to wear high heels. Her head can turn 360 degrees around, and can tilt up about 20 degrees, and tilt down 10 degrees. Her arms can swivel about the shoulders 360 degrees, and can tilt about 20 degrees. Her forearms can swivel around her elbows almost 360 degrees, but cannot go completely around. They can tilt back about 20 degrees, and forward about 60 degrees. Her hips can swivel 90 degrees both back and forth, and can tilt out about 30 degrees. She has white painted on underwear, which looks like a strapless one piece bathing suit.
Packaging and Deboxing the Coronation Aurora Doll
It was easy to debox Coronation Aurora, compared to most Disney Store dolls. First step was to remove the clear plastic cover from the box, by cutting the tape around the edges, and lifting the tabs free from the cardboard. Aurora is standing on a small cardboard spacer. Behind her is a printed background from the movie, which is common to all the dolls in this series. There was only plastic T-tab fasteners securing her to the backing and the plastic spacer. It was possible to reach all the fasteners and snip them off, without having to remove the large plastic spacer. It turned out that the fastener that was supposed to go into the back of her head didn't make it past her hair, so she didn't have a post sticking out of her head when I snipped the fastener loose. The other end of the fastener was just laying loose in her hair. There was tissue paper around her legs, but only up to her knees, to make the skirt look fuller in the box.

I just received the four available Jakks Pacific dolls from the Maleficent movie in single doll packages. I ordered them from Toys R Us on Friday night and got them Tuesday, with free shipping. From the moment that Marthos had entered into the world, he fought for everything he now has. With his mother being a full ogre and his distant father being a true dragon, neither side of the family really accepted the scaly child. For the first few years of life, Marthos was raised with other Ogre children. His ‘playmates’ would continually gang up on him and beat him bloody. This went on for a few months before the anger and pride of his dragon heritage truly awoke. Realizing just how different he was, Marthos became the bully and fought with children equal to his age, intimidated those younger then him and fought his elders. Each day would end with blood on his scales, whether it were his or someone else’s it didn’t matter. Marthos learned from an early age to exert his superiority over those around him and to make sure they never forget.
Upon reaching adolescence, his father took over his upbringing. For one year, Marthos was taught combat training, the history of Ulharnoach, encouraged to take an interest in the arts and then sent into the Azure Claw Monastery to undergo strict training. While physically strong thanks to his parents, Marthos focused on strengthening his mind through strict mental exercises and expressing the changes through painting. He spent only five years in the monastery before leaving the lands of his birth and went abroad. Traveling through various kingdoms, Marthos challenged then fell many warriors, he out painted artists and in one unique situation, dueled and humiliated the newly crowned queen of Rauxes. IT was rather shameful, so much so that he left the duel midway in disgust for the puppet the supposed warrior queen had become. Ultimately, he was recalled to his homeland when news of the Patriarch’s failing health reached him. Now two years later, he is acting regent and heir to the throne of Ulharnoach.

The body of Harry Lloyd Jones, aged 56, who had been missing from his home in Sentinel Road, Herne Bay, since, September 12, was recovered from the old Parnell railway tunnel by the Newmarket police yesterday. There was a deep wound in the throat, and a penknife was found near by. It is believed death occurred about a month ago. Children passing through the tunnel on Sunday first noticed the body, but became frightened and did not mention it until yesterday, when the father of one of them informed the police. A search revealed the body about two chains past the barricade at the Auckland end of the tunnel.
