The NGC 6914 Complex via NASA A study in contrasts, this colorful skyscape features stars, dust, and glowing gas in the vicinity of NGC 6914. The complex of reflection nebulae lies some 6,000 light-years away, toward the high-flying northern constellation Cygnus and the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy. Obscuring interstellar dust clouds appear in silhouette while reddish hydrogen emission nebulae, along with the dusty blue reflection nebulae, fill the cosmic canvas. Ultraviolet radiation from the massive, hot, young stars of the extensive Cygnus OB2 association ionize the region's atomic hydrogen gas, producing the characteristic red glow as protons and electrons recombine. Embedded Cygnus OB2 stars also provide the blue starlight strongly reflected by the dust clouds. The nearly 1 degree wide telescopic field of view spans about 100 light-years at the estimated distance of NGC 6914. #NASA go.nasa.gov/2C0AZ49

A sketch I've made in VVVV for the interactive audiovisual installation "Un_Empathy", made in collaboration with Kinotek collective.
This complex of industrial buildings at the corner of John Street and Findlay Street in Cincinnati’s West End have been home to a number of companies over the years. The oldest building in the complex is an example of Late Victorian Industrial, while the other two buildings are much more modern and utilitarian, both likely dating closer to the mid-20th Century. Today, though boarded up and somewhat rundown, this complex does hold quite a bit of beauty and potential for adaptive reuse, provided the market is there for it. One portion of this complex includes a structure that bridges over Charlotte Street, a narrow and intact brick street that runs through the eastern West End. With this interesting feature, and the imposing size, this complex is notable and should be retained during future evolution and development in the area.
