Completion of 8 new build apartments at Marion Road. 4 x 2 bed first floor apartments, and 4 x 2 bed ground floor adapted apartments.
Crews worked around the clock for three days to replace 60 concrete panels and complete other pavement repairs on southbound I-5 in Kent.
The old panels were worn and cracked, so crews removed them, drilled steel bars to secure the new panels, and poured fresh concrete to restore a smoother, safer driving surface.
This work is a part of the State Route 509 Completion project, which connects SR 509 to I-5.

On Sept. 25, 2024, WSDOT’s Puget Sound Gateway Program celebrated a milestone for the SR 509 Completion Project in SeaTac. Elected leaders and representatives from the state, local cities, the Port of Seattle, Sound Transit, freight gathered on the SR 509 expressway to mark the beginning of the second stage of construction.

The second stage builds 2 miles of the expressway from 24th Avenue South in SeaTac to South 188th Street near the southwest corner of Sea-Tac Airport. The celebration was held at the point where the first stage (from I-5 to 24th Avenue South) will connect with the upcoming stage.
In these photos, the first stage of the new expressway is clearly shown, with the paved roadway, median barriers and bridges forming a backdrop for the speakers and the festivities. After speeches concluded, guests were invited to choose a preprinted, beribboned card that listed a benefit of the project. They then lined up and each held a ribbon of their own card and the person standing next to them to create a ribbon of benefits.

Biologists scan a small section of the Surprise Lake Tributary near Fife, WA looking for fish. Once spotted, they'll scoop them up, place them in buckets of water and move them to a new location.
De-fishing is a critical first step before we can begin working in creeks. Whether the fish (and other aquatic species) have protected status or not, our goal is to make sure they all survive.
We de-fished this part of the tributary before beginning the heavy work of restoring the entire wetlands. The work is part of the SR 167 Completion Project. In addition to building six new miles of highway, we're also restoring more than 150 acres of wetlands and creeks on both sides of I-5 near the Fife curve.
The wetland area was converted to agricultural and industrial use decades ago. Our work will restore the area to a natural state and create habitat for fish and wildlife.

This is a Yuki base doll, and scalp with flanges 1/2 torn... is only on her right side. (she arrived to me like this) The rest of it is in the gutter of the dome. Don't think it's worth fishing out...
I have some mohair left to do another small row for bangs. Deciding between:
1) full vertical length row, and cut if desired into bangs? (perhaps thatched with front row, like Kozy/UT/VM bangs)
2) bangs rooted by knotted method and cut long enough, to show off the wispy natural ends of the mohair, kwim?
and what to do about faceup?

Stream restoration work is being done along I-5 near the Fife curve. This restoration work re-channels Hylebos Creek and Surprise Lake Tributaries that once ran along the area but were re-routed into small ditches along I-5. This restoration work re-digs the creek beds and introduces natural flora and fauna to the area.
Here construction crews have set up an aqua-barrier in the creek, which is a water-inflated artificial dam. The dam allows construction crews to enter the creek channel and perform work on the bridge while also avoiding risks to aquatic life.
This work is part of the SR 167 Completion Project. The project extends SR 167 from its current end point near Puyallup to SR 509 in Tacoma. which works to extend SR 167 from its current end point near Puyallup to SR 509 near the Port of Tacoma. The project also includes a large wetland restoration project, helping to restore the Hylebos Creek and the Surprise Lake Tributary.

Next to the northbound Interstate 5 on-ramp from State Route 516 in the SeaTac area is a landscape feature called a bioswale.
These bioswales are designed to filter stormwater runoff from the roadway. The bioswale was installed as part of the SR 509 Completion Project.
The plants help trap and break down pollutants, ensuring that water entering the environment is cleaner. The process protects nearby waterways and surrounding ecosystems.

"Blossoming into completion" is a sentence I remember from one of the numerous talks by Osho (Shree Rajneesh), who opened the world's many spiritual paths for me - and some of my soul too..
He once talked about a valley in the Himalaya's that had only been discovered just recently. Quite difficult to reach, it had an overwhelmingly large amount of rare and almost extinct flowers. Endless fields of the most precious plants and flowers. No one ever watched them, or appreciated their beauty, let alone pick them. I still remember Osho's soft voice, always sounding slighly drunk :
"For whom are they blossoming? For no one! Useless beauty! They are just blossoming into completion"
Some days, that quote is a much needed antidote for narcissism and my presumed need for attention.
