You’ll be my world...
As long as there’s a world turning ‘round...
And you’ll be my heaven...
it reigns complete silence. you're just sitting there, looking at the mountains in the back, the clouds in the sky, the colourful trees or the calm lake and its reflection....
just amazing to get down from the stress and to relax ;)
Johnson Lake, Banff, Alberta, Canada
(Mamă gradinarului)
A-nmugurit sâmburele divin.
Înseamnă, pesemne, c-a venit timp
pe cuvânt ca-i vei înmiresma viaţa-n
parfumuri de crin.
Şi nu-l vei lăsa în plină grădină
fără de-un rost.

I normally wouldn't put up a picture like this up but I feel this shouldn't happen.
Shot story, was out in Phoenix park, Dublin In Ireland, Just for your average walk get some air the maybe some nice pics, the usual. Sat down on a hill near a duck pond. these 3 people came up and started feeding the Swan that was sitting quite happly the other side of the fence near the pond. Then this Idiot (putting it lightly) jumped over then fence, I guess to show off to his girlfriend/friend. As you can see the swan isn't to happy about this and starts to pecking at him and as you can see he garbed the swan by the head/beak and pulls the swan closer, the swan is struggling with this and is not happy. The "Idiot" pull the swan in for a hug. sadly I didn't take a picture of the "idiot" lifting the swan up. This kind of thing is just not right. once the swan was put down, the swan puffed up to make him self look bigger but he was abit disoriented then the "Idiot" just jump over the fence and walked off. I don't know if this is a male or female I'm assuming its a male because the female was not fair away on there nest. I'm hoping this wont effect the swan to much and they stay with the nest.
The end of the MNYGJ, with a single DPU, comes around the curve toward the west switch of Eisele (Clay). The head end of the train is already out the west end of Eisele and heading for Blue Mountain Road! At just over 7,000 feet long, the train is over 1,200 feet longer than the siding at Eisele.

The original triangular cupola I began this tutorial with months ago is in the rear of this polyhedron. I only resumed work three weeks ago, spending perhaps an hour per weeknight folding each triangular cupola.
When I took this picture yesterday, I only had one more cupola to attach. As you can see, my technique has been to glue (yes, glue) the front and back of each cupola separately. In most cases I attached the 12 front hexagonal units before the 3 rear triangular units, but I reversed this order for the last cupola since it is easiest to do the inside before the outside when closing an object up permanently.
Of course I finished the object yesterday. Since I gave the polyhedron to Addie_Goodvibes this morning, I forgot to take a picture of the completed structure. (I'll have to take one later.) Update: See the next image in the set.
As usual I needed 510 sheets of paper to complete this polyhedron. Each sheet was 15x15cm, so the whole thing is about the size of a beach ball; I can fit my head through any of the decagonal holes. While the great rhombicosidodecahedron is fairly stable, I don't think it would be a wise idea to roll it around due to the weight of the paper.
I am SO pleased with how this turned out. I love the colors, and how cheerful it is. Perfect birthday gift for my daughter, turning 5 this month. I highly recommend this pattern to any crocheter - I'm pretty sure I'll be making another one sometime soon.
Time to get this boat on the water after 3 weeks of sanding and painting. It’s been a lot of fun working on the new design, now it’s time to see how she sails!
loose fitting short sleeved casual green linen dress with side pockets and box pleats completed. i may wear it to the vet tomorrow. i'm taking grumps for a checkup to get his flea and worm treatment :)
i've found a couple of dress patterns i'm interested in making. both are more fitted than i've been making. they are waisted dresses: one with long sleeves and the other short sleeves. these dresses introduce fitting a zip and darts to the bodice and skirt. i'll give it some thought ....

Completed in 1932 for just over $200,000, the concrete span of Bixby Creek Bridge, one of the highest bridges of its kind in the world, soars 260 feet above the bottom of a steep canyon carved by Bixby Creek. One look at the canyon’s steep and crumbling cliffs, and it’s obvious that building the bridge wasn’t exactly a cakewalk. First, a massive wooden framework had to be built, with materials brought by truck on what was then a narrow, one-way road riddled with hairpin turns. A staggering 45,000 individual sacks of cement had to be hauled up the framework—and this is before advanced heavy machinery could help do the lifting. Each bag was transported via a system of platforms and slings suspended by cables 300 feet above the creek.
Curiously, the span was completed before the road, and it would be five more years before the route linking Carmel (about 15 miles to the north) to San Luis Obispo would even be opened.
Babcock State Park is a state park located along the New River Gorge on 4,127 acres (16.7 km2) wooded in Fayette County, West Virginia.
Located near the park headquarters, the Glade Creek Grist Mill is among the most photographed tourist sites in the state. It was named in honor of Edward V. Babcock. Completed in 1976 by combining parts of three other West Virginia mills, it is a replica of the original Cooper's Mill that was located nearby. The park's web site describes the Glade Creek Grist Mill as a living, working monument to the more than 500 mills that used to be located throughout the state. (Wikipedia)
I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner; now I am the Master. - Darth Vader to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I received Star Wars: A New Hope - The 40th Anniversary for Christmas and one of my favourite covers was the one by Adi Granov depicting the duel aboard the Death Star. I have tried to recreate the cover in Lego and as such the build turned out slightly plainer than what I usually do, although I do think that it turned out acceptably.
The three-aisled parish church of St. Johannes Baptist was rebuilt after the great city fire of 1388 in the style of late Gothic and completed in 1409. A good two decades after the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), the church interior was redecorated around 1670 Baroque.
The vault in the nave was generously redesigned and stucco master Matthias Schmuzer embellished the nave with stucco decoration. In 1672 a new high altar made in Munich was erected and in the following years the side altars were replaced. During the 18th century, well-known Augsburg and Munich goldsmiths made devices and jewelery of the interior.
Here is my completed digital model of a Chesapeak & Ohio K-2 mikado.
C&O's K-2s and K-3s were their replacement for their aging K-1 mikados, which were outdated in their cylinder volume, boiler pressure, and driver diameter. The K-2s were the 'light' version and the K-3s were the 'heavy' version, even though the K-2s actually weighed more than the K-3s. They were used quite regularly from their debut in about 1920 until dieselization in 1952.
This model is powered by two PF L motors in the boiler, geared 1:1 to the #10 (LL) drivers, (which were designed by Glenn Holland), through a drivetrain I successfully tested physically.
I believe this model has started a new era in my modelling journey. It contains much better scale accuracy and structural integrity than I have previously been able to achieve. It also contains custom rods I designed myself, which very closely resemble the rods on Glenn Holland's NYC Mohawk, as I mentioned in a previous post.
I hope to build this model sometime within the next two years, as I have a lot of other models to finish as well. If you have read this far, thank you, and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
This is my last ditch effort to get some cookies done. We leave today for Florida for a much needed week's vacation! And of course, my big order of new cutters just came UPS today. I don't think my hubby would appreciate postponing the trip so I can play with them though. :(

Finally! It's complete and bound! And I entered it in the Modern Quilt Guild Showcase tonight.
Each row was made by a bee-mate out of a single color of fabric samples I provided to them. Natalia Bonner did the amazing quilting using 12 different colors of thread. LOVE THIS QUILT!!

Completed in 1701 and originally part of a Carmelite convent, it was confiscated in 1792 by French Revolutionary forces who drove out the nuns and de-consecrated it.
Many aristocratic families left at the same time, including the Mazenods, who were living up the street until they fled to Italy. Some twenty-five years later their son Eugène, by then a novice priest, returned to Aix and acquired the abandoned church as a base for his project of establishing an organization to help marginalized people in Provence.
The organization soon became known as the Oblate Missionaries, and now works in over 60 countries. This chapel remains their international home, and features a statue of their founder, Eugène de Mazenod - now a saint - inside.
