Love how it turned out, it's very clean, organized and appealing to the eye. Hubby made the lil' racks to hold the clothes and measured them all, so they are all the same. Very happy!

This is the second year that I have completed the 100 pictures scavenger hunt. I remember that last year I was scrambling in the last couple of days to finish ... this year I couldn't wait to finish ... thank you to all those who supported this endeavour along the way ...

REPOSTING-- since we are headed into another summer olympic games, thought i would reprise this picture. was doing a meta-theme of clothespins back in 2012 for the 100 possibilities group and the main 'characters' were pin and peg :)

here is the whole album, which includes the summer games:

although peg and pin could not be in london, they were thrilled to discover that the opening ceremonies (and all of the games) of the Olympins was being televised on WPEG, from start to finish.

scavchal16-- completed project

when the easter dyed pins looked too pale and washed out when standing on the buttons, i hand-colored all five of these;....... and i have the permanent marker marks on my fingers to prove it. ~grin~

time consuming but worth the effort and a lot more creatively satisfying than rescreening :)

What did I learn from taking 100 portraits of 100 strangers in 100 consecutive days?

First and foremost I realised that we are all equal. No matter the shape, size, age, colour, background or location...we are 100% equal.

Potential strangers often asked “why do you want to take my photo?” I want to answer because God created you beautifully and I want to highlight that! But more often than not I answered “why not? You’re a stranger, what makes you any less worthy than others?”

This usually works because people then realise that I am doing this project to celebrate creation, in particular PEOPLE.

Another insight I gained from this project is the masses of poor self image that exists in our community. I am not being sexist but women in particular in my opinion are far too self conscious of their appearance. This is probably due to the messages they get from magazines, TV and other media outlets all containing the message of beauty is thin, tall, perfect make up and curves only in the right places. You want the truth (according to me anyway)...

Beauty is acceptance of the way you have been created!

Turn downs are a natural part of the project. Don’t start this yourself if you’re not ready to have people say no. I think that 80% of my shots were from the first person I approached that day but on other days I had as many as 12 “NO’S” before I got a “YES”.

I do hope you have enjoyed this project as much as I have.

THREE KEY MESSAGES I’D LIKE TO GET ACROSS FROM MY 100 PORTRAITS

1.People are awesome. Awesomely Equal and Valued

2.Beauty comes from within, accept who you are and you will find true beauty

3.My community is NOT a scary place. If someone asks for your photo in the future, why not smile and say yes!

I purchased this super cool, old SPOKANE Lawyer's catalog card index file cabinet many months ago with intentions of having it house ALL my doll clothing (Yes, I have alot!), and finally last Thursday, we moved it into it's location! This piece really speaks to me, one reason is because it is labeled with Spokane and the Lawyer's name on a small embossed label...and I love local history pieces! The other reason I love it, I could really envision it holding gobs of dolly clothing. Well it's already full, however, at least ALL my doll clothing is in ONE area, ONE Location, ONE piece of furniture! Thank you to my hubby for finishing the top so nicely!

The border and font are both from Subversive Cross Stitch, but I changed the words because poop felt more appropriate. I totally dig how it came out.

It is the start of a new day, and the end of a project.

The little red book has traveled across the ocean and state borders. It has been on countless road trips through country towns and cities. It has been shared with the world, and has brought the world to me.

I started the project with the intention to honour each and every day ... It has spoken to sorrow with tear stained eyes, it has sung to joy with a flutter within it's heart. It has breathed with hope and sighed with despair. There are pages of whimsy, pages of serious content, leaves of lightness and leaves of darkness.

It has shared my happiest days and my saddest days. In moments of introversion it holds what was closest in my heart ... in moments of extraversion it has shared a moment from each of the past 365 days. It's spine may be broken, but the spirit that rests within remains strong ... from book end to book end ... this has been my little red book.

The title for each posting has been based on the day in swedish numbers ... and before anyone asks, I plan to give projects of this magnitude a rest for a while ... :) For a detailed look at this 365 day project please visit the little red book

End of the road...

Last shot of the year...just me and the camera/lens combo I spent the most time with this year (d300 and 70-200 2.8). It's been one hell of a ride, but it's definitely been a blast. I'm so happy for all the contacts that I've met over this year and I'm really looking forward to the 52 project.

What a perfect way to end this with a shot on the farm (no horses!).

Thank you everyone for all your comments and support throughout this incredible journey - I definitely couldn't have done this without all of you!

Happy New Year Everyone!

just over 18 months in the making, i finally completed this project. it took a lot longer than anticipated. a lot has changed over that time - not only my camera and the number of lenses in my kit! looking back over the project there are some images that i wish i had not submitted or done differently, there are some that i am proud of, many mean so much more - they bring back a moment, an emotion, a memory.

thank you to everyone who has supported me during this project. your comments and feedback mean a lot to me, they have encouraged me to complete this project, inspired me to learn, and challenged me to experiment and think differently about the world of photography.

you can find out more about this wonderful scavenger hunt here ... try it ... have fun :))

Finally, a huge task completed! All my Flickr Sets are complete with my girls - nice to see them in 1 spot and I did like a brief description of them.! It's been an extremely busy week getting ready for a 2-day garage sale that starts tomorrow at my house, and people in general have been jerks here on Flickr, so I have been laying low. I hope everyone has a nice Thursday.....

AKA what I sometimes wish I could say to library customers when they get all angry about things that don't matter so much in the long run. I really wanted it to say "tough shit" but that didn't seem quite appropriate for my desk. This is from Subversive Cross Stitch, but I changed the colors.

It has been a long journey but I am delighted to have finished this project. I remember when I had first read the clues and saw that clue 101 was a self portrait - how terrified I was of that thought. The more common clues were the ones I had the greatest difficulty with ... I wanted to do something slightly different and in some cases that has been achieved. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way ... it was a fun project!
