One of my attempts at this weeks "Crazy Tuesday" theme "Complementary Colours"

Shot with a "Tomioka-Copal 71 mm F 4" (enlarging) lens on a Canon EOS R5.

Perhaps I should explain the lighting of this shot: The vignetting effect was not created by post processing/editing but by the light set up. I put a small yet very bright LED torch right behind the leaf which has evoked a high contrast between the light centre and the dark borders. The bright circular light passing through the leaf made the colours such vibrant which was intensified by the dark parts around in the shades. The green particles thereby look like neon green powder the leaf is dusted with.

Another archive frame. Spent 5 days here on the lake in a little cabin with nothing but a box of beer and red squirrels for company. Fabulous.

Today's Macro Mondays theme is two opposite colours which I've achieved with red and green. I grabbed a small unripe apple off the tree in the front garden and some inedible cherries off the tree next to it, without realising I had picked up a tiny spider too. I set them down on a plate, with the spider taking up a perfect pose. I quickly took my first shot. It's a lousy pic. And then the spider took off fast as if embarrassed to feature in such a poor image. I couldn't catch him after that so I didn't get a chance to adjust things and make it a better picture.

"Macro Mondays" "Complementary Colours"

Seen in the formal beds at the Jardin des Plantes, Paris, where the spring planting of orange flowers with touches of their complementary blue is inspired by Chevreul’s colour theory, in particular his law of simultaneous contrast - that two juxtaposed hues will be perceived as the most different possible when the brain adds to a perceived hue a little of the complementary of the juxtaposed hue. For 50 years, Chevreul ran the natural history museum of which this garden is a part.

The stated intention is that energy and dynamism mix harmoniously to create a captivating atmosphere, a poetic evocation of a journey in distant lands, where the warmth of the summer envelops every breath of air, impregnated with the intoxicating fragrance of Orange Blossom. 😉

Chevreul’s colour theory had a great impact on artists and the planting did remind me of Signac’s Setting Sun. Sardine Fishing. Adagio. Opus 221.

The Iceland Poppy they used here, 'Champagne Bubbles Orange' was perhaps the most intensely coloured I have ever seen.

For Macro Monday's "complementary colours" theme.

Macro Mondays theme : Complementary colors

This “Aster de Chine” (China Aster) includes two complementary colors: Purple and Yellow. There are actually several varieties of “Aster de Chine” , mainly obtained through hybridization. The result is a wide array of colors. They are blooming from mid-August to the end of autumn.

The flower was already smaller than 3” in diameter but I decided to crop it to show more of the two complementary colors. Hope you will like it!

Macro Monday: #ComplementaryColours

Actually I wanted to do something with yellow and purple or blue for "Complementary Colours" (and why do I always end up writing "contemporary" or "contemplating" when I mean complementary?). The beautiful blue and yellow iris bouquet (something that has both colours in it!) in the flowerpot on the living room table, for instance, would have been perfect. But then I spotted this happy little red radish on my Sunday breakfast table, smiling at me broadly. "You lookin' for me?", it seemed to ask. "Yes, you do! I know it! Forget about those perfect iris blossoms. Forget about yellow and purple. Combine me with that grass mat, and you've got 80 percent complementemporaring colours, too. Plus, I've got that certain something, the X factor, that 'je ne sais quoi', haven't I?!?" "And what could that be?", I asked. "That toothless, toothpaste-defying smile, maybe? Hair - or what is that - in your face? That weird winking expression with only one eye open? Wait a minute, eye? What eye? You're a radish. Radishes don't have eyes. Do you think people will enjoy looking at you?", I grumbled, sensing that all my hopes of coming up with some other colour combination than the obvious red and green, and something with both colours in it on top of that, would be dashed. Dashed by a tiny, cheeky, ugly duckling type of radish. Because of pareidolia. A sign stimulus. My sign stimulus. "The tendency to interpret a vague stimulus as something known to the observer, such as seeing shapes in clouds, seeing faces in inanimate objects or abstract patterns, or hearing hidden messages in music" (Wikipedia), and immediately grab the camera and shoot. After all, it smiled at me. All the time. "But don't expect me to give you a name!", I snapped, and thought to myself "And I'll eat you after the photoshoot." "You aren't exactly a morning person, are you?", the little radish remarked wryly, and its smile got even broader. I'm sure it could read my mind.

A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone, and have a great August week ahead!

An intense Icelandic Poppy, perhaps enhanced by the blue Forget-Me-Nots.

For the Macro Monday's theme of "Complementary Colours" I had a few ideas but in the end I decided to go with Red and Green Jalapenos.

I work a 14 hour day on Saturday nights and on the way home I will buy a few items from a supermarket and also something to eat.

One thing I buy more often than not is a Lasagne ready meal and I cook it in the oven for 35 minutes. After it has been cooking for 20 minutes I like to add some Jalapenos and return it to the oven for the final 15 minutes.

I usually use either the Red or Green Jalapenos but for this theme I decided to use both so I could have them as my subject for this week.

These are great with Cheese on Toast as well.

I added this to my Pareidolia album as the two main Jalapenos do seem to have facial like qualities.

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated

This Image is of the carry bag of my camping kitchen. I really liked the colors and the texture.

HMM! Everyone!

Geranien treiben das Spiel mit der Komplementärfarbe genial. Sind die Blüten eher hell, dann ist auch das Grün der Blätter heller.

I put white adhesive lettering on each plastic cup. After many shots, I liked the white gab in between. For two reasons; the light in between bounced the opposite colours onto the lettering as well as soften the "vibration" of color when they were right next to each other. Although, I must say I DID like the new "purple/magenta" that was created by the DOF. HMM!

Thank you ADMIN for the challenge, I really enjoyed this one!

Red - Green two opposites that works great together and it tasted good as well.
