This is a photograph from the finish of the 36th Michael Manning Memorial "Dunshaughlin 10KM" Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday 20th June 2015 at 19:30. This race is widely acknowledged within the Irish running community as one of the best races in Ireland. While being very well attended and competitive it is also one of the oldest 10KM races in Ireland. The numbers for this race have exceeded expectations year on year for the past number of years. In 2008 a record field of 306 took to the start line but by 2012 this number had more than doubled with 647 runners taking part. The starting numbers in 2013 topped this again at 668. Last year, 2014, the numbers rocketed to a new record of 883. This year 862 finished the race showing that the race continues to attract very substantial crowds. This year, as in previous years, the race attracted runners from not just all of Leinster but from the four corners of Ireland. Who knows but this race could reach 1,000 entrants next year? The work of the organising committee must be commended on making this event possible. The Dunshaughlin 10KM has earned it's place at the top of the pedestal of Irish running through the sheer hard work of Dunshaughlin AC over the years. Road race events do not survive on their own. There must be dedication, hard work and a development vision amongst the committee and the host club. Well done to all.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

All of them highly competitive. The other teens from the neighborhood and I would set up football “fields” almost anywhere using plastic bottles as “balls,” compete in bicycling in dangerous streets with no lights and car traffic and playing basketball till late at night under the rain. And I just had to win…there was no other result. I would do everything possible (and impossible) for my team to win, like delaying, repeating games, cheating in the score and even playing hard to the point of injury. It was like a fight to me, and I wouldn’t mind sending you to the hospital, to win. This extreme competitiveness would continue even within my family members where I would get in gruesome fights, which would end up punching each other on the face, with my brother. Although I was kind, polite and respected my friends, in the game, I was extremely competitive. Last night Leeds Law School welcomed Simon Price from DWF Solicitors for an interactive session on ‘The Modern Lawyer'. This was an interactive session to help students adopt a success mindset in looking for training contracts and how to differentiate themselves in a competitive market.
The official post contest weigh in. Pat Bertoletti (upper left) was the eventual winner with 11.1 pounds of shoofly pie eaten in 8 minutes. That bulge under his shirt is the sign of a true competitive eating champion.

Northern Division
Todays visitors were Merseyside based Firwood Waterloo and they just shaded a competitive game against hosts Morley (Leeds).
I thoughly enjoyed the exciting game played in ideal conditions, a crisp winters day and a soft muddy pitch. The "Maroons" ground is a corker and the obvious 'jewel in the crown' being the main stand which covers the whole of one side of the pitch.
Morley played and won its first match on the 9 November 1878, against Dewsbury Birkdale. Morley was a member of the Northern Union, however, when the Northern Union clubs broke away from the RFU to form what is now rugby league, the Morley representatives missed the train to Huddersfield as they were still in the pub. As a result Morley remained with the RFU
When the club won the Yorkshire Cup for the first time in 1932 in its fourth final, Morley borough council granted permission for the municipal coat of arms to be worn on the club's jerseys. The figures and devices on the coat of arms were symbolic of the principal industries of the Borough - the manufacture of woollen cloth, coal mining and quarrying.
In the 2009–10 season Morley had an excellent season, losing just 3 league games. As a result they finished top of the league and gained promotion into National Division 2 North for 2010–11 season.
Recent seasons have been less kind to the club and they were soon back in National 3 North to which they find themselves today.

Their affinity to promote high-end designer labels, including some Indian brands, forms the basis of their success story.
Solitaire International is publishing a series of interviews profiling independent US jewellery retailers. Some of the jewellers featured so far in this series include London Jewelers on Long Island, Mayfair Rocks in The Hamptons, and Sydney Garber, the Chicago-based jeweller that donates all profits to charity and non-profits.
This time we focus on Marissa Collections, the Florida-based boutique. Dedicated to helping clients find their own style, Marissa Collections opened its doors in 1975 when life-and-business partners, Marissa and Burt Hartington, opened shop.
One of a handful of family-run businesses in the US to have stayed the course, perhaps their success lies in family teamwork?
Marissa is the creative half of this luxury operation whilst her husband manages the business side of things.
Their son Jay Hartington serves as CEO. The second generation in the family to continue the business, Jay oversees marketing, jewellery and menswear at this multifaceted boutique.
Today, Marissa Collections is located in a 10,000-square-foot property in the Third Street South shopping district of Old Naples in Florida.
Marissa Collections originally operated out of a store front boutique, selling items hand selected by Marissa, including accessories and shoes.
It has recently expanded to include fine jewellery, as well as menswear. Jewellery brands it carries include Messika, David Webb and Emily P Wheeler whose funky cabochon chunky ring retails for $9,800 at Marissa Collections. Other jewellers selling at the boutique include Irene Neuwirth, Katherine Jetter and Studio Renn. Indian designers Marissa admires and works with include Saboo, Arunashi, and Sutra — these include Arunashi’s $28,800 abstract pear earrings, and Sutra’s black ceramic fancy diamond bracelet retailing at $155,000.

What defines your company?
Marissa Collections is defined by its curated shopping experience that allows staff and guests to create timeless pieces from a wide variety of designers. What started as my mother, Marissa, hand-picking and personally styling pieces for each individual has grown into so much more, while still holding true to its family-owned, personal shopping relationship. Marissa’s original, artistic vision is brought to life using personal stylists and jewelry experts on site, making it a one-of-kind company.
What was your route into jewellery?
It was a natural progression to provide head-to-toe styling to our clients so they wouldn’t have the need to go anywhere else.
How is business in the US?
We are fortunate to have experienced tremendous growth. Since the beginning of this business, we have consistently invested in smaller, up-and-coming designers. By doing so, we have grown alongside those designers and developed great relationships. Our stylists incorporate our exquisite jewellery with casual clothing, creating even more options for jewellery wear. Our efforts have paid off as we have been able to expand and add an additional shop in Palm Beach, Florida; the shop is doing very well and was just awarded Best New Business in Palm Beach.
Do you sell more online or in store?
Both online and in-store sales have been doing equally as well. They truly balance each other out and support each other. Our boutiques have consistent loyal fans that love to shop in person, more for the experience and attention to detail from our staff. Although, since the pandemic, our online sales have done exceptionally well. In 2020, e-commerce sales went up 110%.
How have you adapted to the pandemic?
We were growing faster than normal online, so we revamped the website and made sure sales associates were easily accessible to online shoppers. We would also go live on Instagram with designers to showcase their collections. These few small measurements paid off by being able to connect virtually with local clientele and with our international buyers. Also offered to our local clientele was same-day delivery in our well-known Marissa Collections pink van. Our jewellery sales increased, as people were spending less going out and more on valuable jewellery and possessions.
What smaller brands do you carry?
We continuously seek out emerging designers that are new and upcoming. Often, our smaller designers can’t be found everywhere else, and it gives us the chance to shine a spotlight on emerging designers.
Who is your clientele?
We are consistently growing and reaching new clientele, especially online and across the globe. Locally, we have generational clients who have been with Marissa Collections since we started decades ago. We hold many in-store events, such as our Piercing Party, that bring in waves of younger clients. They can walk right into the boutique for the same personalised, one-on-one shopping experience that their mother or grandmother has had.
How much do they spend?
We host a wide variety of price points, including fashion, fine, bespoke and high jewellery.
Do you do business with India? How is your experience?
We do plenty of business with India and have a few direct suppliers that we have a great relationship with.

Bangor bash Barban boys

On a perfect afternoon for rugby, Bangor maintained their good winning streak by recording another bonus point victory against Dromore, eventually winning by 38-17.
With Bangor and Dromore looking secure in 3rd and 4th places respectively in the league, this game could have been viewed as a dead fixture. However, with Dromore no doubt wanting to reverse their earlier defeat, and Bangor wanting to maximise their points tally, the game was certainly competitive.
Bangor got proceedings underway, playing into a slight breeze that was blowing diagonally across the pitch. From the outset, Dromore used this slight advantage to gain good ground through well taken positional kicks. However, were equally happy to run the ball back and produced several good attacks in reply. In fact the home side could have been a couple of scores up in the first quarter, but the ball didn’t run for them at the crucial moments. However, the breakthrough eventually came when the handling across the backs was crisp and secure, giving Neil Cuthbertson on the right wing the opportunity to stretch his legs and dive over in the corner for a well-taken try. An injury to full back Chris Morgan resulted in changes to both the forward and backs line-up, with Adam Rushe coming off the bench to take James Henly’s wing forward position, allowing Henly to move to outside centre, and moving Mike Weir to full back as a result. There followed a brief period of settling to this new structure, before Bangor struck again. Seeing a flat Dromore defence ahead of him, Jason Morgan chipped over their heads and began the chase for the line. The ball bounced favourably for him, and he just managed to gather and touch down ahead of the nearest defender. The kick was successful extending the lead to 24-10, and now with the additional bonus point.

Although Dromore won their scrum close to Bangor’s line, it looked like Bangor had the attack covered. However a defensive mix-up left a gap that provided a simple run through for Dromore to score beside the posts. With the successful conversion, the gap had closed to 31-17.
Obviously annoyed by this mistake, Bangor came back at Dromore, forcing the visitors to concede a penalty inside their twenty two. Spurning the kick at goal, Thompson kicked for touch and an attacking line-out. With the ball safely won, Bangor started to drive forward, but the strong Dromore pack held it up. However, the ball was quickly recycled by Ricky Armstrong to Mark Thompson, who then passed to Jason Morgan who pushed off his tackler to score the final try of the day and, with the conversion, bring the final score to 38-17.
This was a good day for North Down sides playing Mid Down opposition. Bangor’s success against Dromore was matched by neighbours Donaghadee who produced an inspired performance to beat Ballynahinch 2nds and earn a place in this year’s Towns Cup final as a result – congratulations to all.
Bangor’s final fixture in this year’s league is away to Cooke next Saturday. The weekend is then topped off on Sunday afternoon with what should be a highly entertaining game between the Perennials and a Bangor Select XV. With several familiar faces from seasons past, this is sure to be a fun event, and one to come along and enjoy.

On a perfect afternoon for rugby, Bangor maintained their good winning streak by recording another bonus point victory against Dromore, eventually winning by 38-17.
With Bangor and Dromore looking secure in 3rd and 4th places respectively in the league, this game could have been viewed as a dead fixture. However, with Dromore no doubt wanting to reverse their earlier defeat, and Bangor wanting to maximise their points tally, the game was certainly competitive.
Bangor got proceedings underway, playing into a slight breeze that was blowing diagonally across the pitch. From the outset, Dromore used this slight advantage to gain good ground through well taken positional kicks. However, were equally happy to run the ball back and produced several good attacks in reply. In fact the home side could have been a couple of scores up in the first quarter, but the ball didn’t run for them at the crucial moments. However, the breakthrough eventually came when the handling across the backs was crisp and secure, giving Neil Cuthbertson on the right wing the opportunity to stretch his legs and dive over in the corner for a well-taken try. NPO collaborates with Mishal for improving Pakistan’s global competitiveness ranking.
National Productivity Organization (NPO) signed MOU with Mishal Pakistan, a country partner institute of the Center for Global Competitiveness and Performance at the World Economic Forum. Mishal is working closely with key institutions in Pakistan on identifying the gaps and opportunities on improving competitiveness issues for long term economic growth Pakistan.
Mishal and NPO will work together to develop initiatives for improving Pakistan ranking on the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum. It was also agreed that NPO will assist Mishal to conduct the annual Executive Opinion Survey of the World Economic Forum to measure Pakistan’s ranking on World Economic Forum’s various indicator on competitiveness. Both the organizations have also agreed to jointly execute activities to develop initiatives for measuring Pakistan’s competitiveness and improving its ranking; whereas, to create a hybrid pool of resources for knowledge sharing.
While addressing the occasion, Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf, Chief Executive Officer of NPO, highlighted that “Pakistan rank 124 from a total of 144 countries and there is a need to synergize country’s resources both technically and physically to uplift our industry with special focus towards competitiveness and productivity”. He hoped that NPO and Mishal together will play a unique role through various special initiatives including research on productivity to improve Pakistan’s ranking. He further said that, “NPO will assist MISHAL Pakistan in developing the annual Pakistan’s State of Competitiveness Report”.
Speaking on the occasion, chief executive officer of Mishal and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, Amir Jahangir shared that Pakistan is facing though competition both in the region and globally, nations around the world are improving their productivity and competitiveness systematically, Pakistan needs to focus its initiatives to improve its own competitiveness.
MISHAL and NPO will also work together to develop institutional capacity of various government institutions and departments to understand the challenges faced by Pakistan on the competitiveness front, for this, MISHAL will provide technical assistance to NPO in establishing a separate department within NPO that will specialize in addressing the issues of competitiveness.
To improve competitiveness, both parties have also agreed that Mishal will be working closely with the management of the National Productivity Organization to reach out to other stakeholders to mobilize resources including knowledge partnerships, donor assistance and institutional collaborations.

Previously Yesterday During Qualifying it was (Jeff Smith) who took the Pole with (Nick Fowler) in Second Place and (Spencer Wanstall) in Third Place with all Three Drivers being Separated by Less than Half a Second as they Crossed the Line to Finish Qualifying.

Very Well Driven there Richard showing the Insane Horse Power thease Mini's have and how they Accelerate and Decelerate much Faster than a Standard Cooper S or even a Racing Mini Seven.

In First Place was (Harvey Death) in his Austin Mini Cooper S V8 with a Best Lap Time of 52.256 and a Top Speed of 79.02mph. Another Fantastic Victory for Harvey who has proven to Have The Fastest Mini in the World and is Really Capable of Driving it as well. Congratulations
In Second Place was (Fabio Luffarelli) in his Mini Classic Saloon with a Best Lap Time of 55.949 and a Top Speed of 76.21mph. Amazing work there Fabio Fantastic to see such an Iconic Mini Out there but with a Twist by putting a Far more Powerful Engine under the hood to Have even more Fun with it. Amazing Build and Super Drive.
In Third Place was (Matthew Skidmore) in his Austin Mini with a Best Lap Time of 55.257 and a Top Speed of 75.71mph. Brilliant Drive Matthew Showing the Real Power and Driver Ability of a car Pushing right onto the limits all the Time.

Mighty Mini's and Super Mighty Mini's were up Next and with a Massive Grid of Both Mighty and Super Mighty Mini's on Display This was going to be another Race that would be well worth the Watch.
From Qualifying Yesterday (Bobby Thompson) took the Pole setting a Very Fast Time of Just 1:00.205 Round the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit with (Ian Slark) and (Stuart Coombs) following Closely Behind in both Second and Third.
With So Many Different Drivers on the Grid and Plenty of Traffic to Navigate Through this First Race was going to be an Epic One to Witness.

The Last Race of the Day for the Mighty and Super Mighty Mini's Championship and with a Very Tight Battle at the Top Between Bobby Ian and Neven which one of them will be able to take Home Victory for the Last Time today. Lets Get straight to finding out.
In First Place was (Neven Kirkpatrick) in his Super Mighty Mini 1293 with a Best Lap Time of 1:01.029 and a Top Speed of 70.35mph. Phenomenal Drive Neven Fending off Ian in Second Place and Keeping yourself up Front to Win and a Fantastic Way to End the Day with a Victory

Pre 66 Mini's (Race 15 Results)
Pre 66 Mini's were up Next and a whole Host of Classic Minis had taken to the track during their Formation Lap with Mini's from a By Gone Era that Showed Beauty and a Really Fierce Competitive Nature during the Pre 66 Category of Mini Racing.
During Qualifying the Previous Day (Ian Curley) Narrowly Beat Endaf Owens to Pole by just 0.254 with a Very Fast and Committed Lap Endaf Had to settle for Second Place while (Phil Brown)would take Third.
But today out of all three drivers who would be Brave Enough to challenge Ian and Endaf both Drivers who are very Competitive in their Racing and who both want to Win This One Race.
In First Place was (Endaf Owens) in his Mini Cooper S with a Best Lap Time of 58.026 and a Top Speed of 73.85mph. A Very Fast and Fearless Drive from Endaf who looked like he was Really Enjoying throwing that Mini Around in his Very Aggressive Driving Style. Congratulations Endaf
In Second Place was (Jeff Smith) in his Mini Cooper S with a Best Lap Time of 57.993 and a Top Speed of 73.84mph. Well Done Jeff an Awesome Drive and Keeping up with Endaf was no Easy Task.
In Third Place was (Ian Curley) in his Mini Cooper S with a Best Lap Time of 58.053 and a Top Speed of 73.32mph. Amazing Work Ian A Very Strong Drive for Third Place on the Podium.
What an Exciting Race for the Pre 66 Mini's with Both Endaf Owens and Jeff Smith Really Driving Hard and Defending both of their positions thought the Course of the entire Race. Also Well Done to Ian for Another 3rd Place Victory as Well as all other Drivers Racing.
Teekay Couplings Production GTI Championship (Race 14 Results)
The Teekay Couplings and Production GTI Championship was up next and with a whole Range of VF Golf GTI'S in one Race it was Going to be a Very Quick and Action Packed Race to Watch.
During Qualifying (Martyn Walsh) took the Pole with (Adam Hance) and (John Beale) in Second and Third Place Respectively.
With So Many Evenly Matched Cars Taking Part in the Race This was Really going to be About Driver Ability and Car Control to see who could extract that little bit more performance out of their Machine for a Victory.
In First Place was (Simon Hill) in his VW Golf GTI with a Best Lap Time of 56.824 and a Top Speed of 71.05mph. Amazing Driving Simon Pushing that VW to its Limits and Really showing off the Complete Understanding of Driver and their Car around the Race Track.
In Second Place was (Adam Hanke) in his VW Golf GTI MK5 with a Best Lap Time of 56.682 and a Top Speed of 71.02mph. Very Well Done Adam and a Really Spirited Drive from a Fantastic Driver to gain Second Place.
In Third Place was (Hendry Riley) in his VW Golf GTI With a Best Lap Time of 57.212 and a Top Speed of 71.01mph. Fantastic Work Hendry Driving the Wheels off that Thing and Taking Home Third Place.
What a Fantastic Starting Race with Plenty of Action and Drivers Working Hard at the Wheel and Thought the entire Race to try and Gain a Spot on the Podium.

Z Cars Racing & New Generation Production BMW Championship (Race 8 Results)
The Last Race of The Day and its the BMW New Generation and Z Cars Championship. With Many Different BMW'S Taking Part in this Race Speed Skill and Concentration will all be key Factors in Getting either a Win or a Podium Position.
During Qualifying on Saturday Chris Murphy took the Pole with Jack Wood Second and Edd Giddings Third. Three Drivers all with Many Hours of Racing Experience under their belt.
With The Race About to Start Lets Find out Who Will be The Last Ones to take First Second and Third Place on the Podium in Todays Racing.

In Third Place was (Matthew Dance) in his BMW Z4 With a Best Lap Time of 56.526 and a Top Speed of 75.16mph. Well Done Matthew Finishing in Third Place and Taking Home a Wonderful Victory.
And With that The End of Another Perfect and Incredible Days Racing comes to an End at Brands Hatch.
