"Compassion can lead one into danger"

Compassion and forgiveness are always portrayed as good morality. Consequences can always be given to the wrong people for the wrong reasons. Through out the book, this man's position of mercy shows the true compassion it has. He felt pity and compassion for them in which he helped them at all costs. He came about this fate when he was betrayed by one of his own.

In To Kill a Mockingbird, Bob Ewell assaulted his own daughter, Mayella Ewell, out of shame he felt over the fact that Mayella kissed Tom Robinson. To cover his mischieveous act he accuses Tom of rape. Tom, an innocent black man, was pronounced guilty and they indirectly let Bob Ewell go free. Tom was a man who went about his business but when Mayella had chores and favors for Tom, Tom could not deny her for he felt pity towards her. Mr.Robinson had no pact with the Ewell's and he definitely didn't have to do any chores for Mayella. Tom's compassion for Mayella lead him into Bob Ewell's merciless wrath.
